I'm running a web service for sharing big files (like rapidshare, but 1 GB limit) and i tried IIS, apache and i honestly believe they both suck and i tried HFS but it didn't work for me, because due to large amount of users simultaneously. (more than 500 concurrent users and counting) Are there any alternatives to HFS? I heard that Zeus Web Server is really good for file transfers, but i prefer Windows and Zeus is expensive.

yes, i guess HFS can't stand such traffic.
sorry, personally i have no advices.
anyway our wiki lists all known similar software.
if you are searchig for a generic web server, you will find an extensive list on wikipedia.

Yes, i already saw the list on wikipedia, and i tried a lot of them. But i believe most of the server software (both freeware and commercial) are derived from Apache, and all of them focus on hosting web pages.

;)
luckily in the last year other people is supporting the project, working on documentation, taking care of the community, and developing templates.
and i want to thank all of you for this.
but i'm the only one working on the code, and our to-do list is long enough to work for years.

EFS is a commercial product (not open) and with different features.
Sure i guess many people can prefer EFS, that's why our wiki lists all known alternatives.

Well, you need the full license key, otherwise it will disconnect on its own.
It works fine for mo beofre. I was thinking to buy it until I found another way to use it...But anyway, I'm considering HFS is the best for me. ^^
