HTML & templates / folder "path" question
« on: March 21, 2007, 09:34:18 PM »
Hi!

First something small to start with:
why is this line in the default template:
<div id=folderlabel>folder</div>

does this have any function?

And now the question of the topic:
is it possible - i know it is but i don't know how - to turn the parts of the actual path into link?

For example:
i'm in /music/oldschool/rap folder while browsing.

I want the oldschool string to be a link to /music/oldshool and the music to /music.
I know i have "goto root" and "up" but if u have long paths then this should be very nice.

What do you think?

Since the path can be any long i don't know how to "split" it into foldernames and do the linking.

Thanks in advance,
TG

PS: Keep up the good work rejetto. HFS is one of the best SW i've ever known.

HFS ~ HTTP File Server / empty folred == no files but folders?
« on: March 21, 2007, 09:28:50 PM »
Hi!

Is this a bug or a feature? If i choose "hide if empty" and a folder has some subfolders (with files) but no files in the "root" than it is hidden.
(c:\folder < folder
c:\folder\a < folder
c:\folder\a\1.txt < file
c:\folder\b < folder
c:\folder\b.txt < file

then c:\folder is hidden.

HFS ~ HTTP File Server / Re: hosting more than 1 web sit with hfs
« on: March 21, 2007, 04:52:16 AM »
Hi!

I really don't need this feat. but if someone is really hosting multiple sites maybe would be happy if there would be an option to give HFS any icon in the tray. Hmm?

Hi!

I think there is no way right now but this is a very good feature req and i think it's "an easy one" for Rejetto too. Hmm?

my connection should be 10mbit as this is a server of an ISP. If you say it is slower than i will get in touch with the provider. I can only test it form Hungary, maybe they give me small international width. I will ask.

HFS ~ HTTP File Server / Re: Remote Control through WEB
« on: November 10, 2006, 09:44:30 PM »
Hi!

Ok, I understand this. And you are right!

Does anyone know package for this?

Oh. And another thing: one of my "wishes" is that i can send commands to "cmd.exe" and i get the "output" on the web. Kind of telnet/ssh but through web. Do u think this is possibel with php too?

HFS ~ HTTP File Server / Remote Control through WEB
« on: November 08, 2006, 10:01:50 PM »
Hi Rejetto and Others!

First to say: I just love HFS. Small, fast, clever.
Some day ago I felt asleep on the bus to home and I HAD A DREAM. :)

I have my PC at home, running HFS, serving files mainly for me when I'm not at home.
Sometimes want to "do" something with the PC. Run an app. Stopp one. Get running services, stopp, restart, etc. I have RealVNC installed but the problem is that you have to have the Client with you (ok you have java client, but it is not fully portable) and it consumes very much bandwidth.
What if HFS could do these remote control things? throug a webpage of course.

You first have to log in and then you could have a customizable page: buttons, infos (eg: running applications), input boxes (to run apps. eg: you input: c:\prg\myfavapp.exe, hit submit, and hfs will start it.)
The 2 main advantages with this kind of remote control would be: 1. VERY small bandwidth. 2. You only need a browser to control your PC. (even a simple HTML browser could do it. I'm thinking PDA's and mobile phones browsers).

So? What do you think?

Here: http://www.educ.umu.se/~cobian/obsolete.htm you can find a program-duo: cobcats. One server one client. Ther are quite good but you need the client to access the server. In case of HFS you wouldn't have to have any client. (CobCats even have screenshot and other interesting features too).

HFS ~ HTTP File Server / Featuer - ip to name in log
« on: January 08, 2006, 05:12:32 PM »
Hi!

Do u think it would be possible to "convert" ip adresses into hostnames in the log file?

I know it consumes bandwidth but it would be nice to know who are using the site (for exaple u can see country code, etc).
