Lastly, would it be possible to make the rawr player work with the iPhone? I tried using .m4a (iDevice audio format) music and it would just show the loading animation but nothing would happen.

Template by user would be cool. Main page is one option and users get to pick there own once logged in. (Something similar to what FHFS does, but its only basic for now)


I don't believe that will work, as RAWR-Player is a dynamic flash player, and iPhone don't support flash. I would jump over to the RAWR site and see if they can get the same functionality programmed in but using HTML5 as that is supported on an iphone.

Not sure how to make a macro log. I could do a screen capture if ya want. (and/or the log file if you tell me how)

Well thanks. I am currently running both version after i figured out there was a option to only run one instance. (Tuned that off and now they both run.)

I think i will just make the user log in twice so to say. First into FHFS, then when they get to the page "Private Files" "Shared Files"  options i will add a third option "Server Files" (Or something like that) and have it point to the other port and open that way. Then edit the FHS template to add a home button to return to FHFS.

I have also been tinkering with another way of adding folders to FHFS for each user, instead of running FHS. I noticed if I add them just right i can access them via FHFS, but not able to set permissions on them as the second I do that they disappear from the users list. How does FHFS look ate FHS for permissions? As it looks like all of the stuff in FHFS in set to "Anyone" is there a way i can still control access to folders and set the permissions for them. (Can you explain the "Anyone" option reasoning?) anyway you would want to find out how to change that so it would use the permissions in FHS is we did make the changes.

(Ya still trying to find a way to combine the two programs functionality into just using FHFS). If I can just find a way to still control the folders individual access (like with FHS original version), I might be set. even if i have to manually edit a text file to give or take permissions. (Access, Delete, and Upload).

I know I'm asking a lot here. But if i can merge functionality like that it would save me resources and give better and easier control over the system, users and files.

Can't wait to see what is next for us. Sounds like you already have a very long list of things you want to add.
And on that note i have a thought:
The so called list you have of things you want to added, would you be willing to share the list with us in the "Requests" Post. And then as updates are release you could update the thread so we can see the progress and such, and also add to the list as you see things from the post you feel would help improve the program.

1. copy of the screen, this error occurs every time you start, why?
2.How load on the processor?
3.Why no video support (RAWR-Player for example)

Fix Possibility 1 - Launch FHFS as admin and "Stop FHFS Service" then try again, Launch FHFS as admin and "Start FHFS Service"

Thought I would start a thread for bugs and possible fixes rather than a new topics each time. Hope this helps!



Bug report from system running: Windows 8 x64

Bug 1 - This bug you are already aware of, but for others here it is

Area: Admin Panel - "Enable/Disable Basic Features" -
Bug: If you make any changes to the settings and save it will not save

Example:
If you make a change to any of the check boxes and then save  and refresh. They do not save

You will not be able to save changes.

Workaround:
See download below and download the "functions.tpl" and put it into your FHFS install folder and override the current file.

Bug 2

Area: Admin Panel - "Outgoing Email Settings"
Bug:  If you only change the "Email Hostname" port number, it does not save.

Example:
 Currently: "Email Hostname: smtp:google.com:465"
 Change to: "Email Hostname: smtp:google.com:587"

Once it reloads, it still reflects "Email Hostname: smtp:google.com:465". Nothing Changed.

Workaround:
To make is save, I have to change the checkmark on "SSL/TLS Connection" and save and then change the checkmark on "SSL/TLS Connection" again if needed.

Bug 3

Area: Main Page (And all others) Create a New Account (Or Create Account)
Bug: During a new account creation, all info is enter and you Submit. "Internal Error 550" (maybe 500)

Example:
User tries to create a new account and is presented with the error message after entering in all the correct info.

Account is never created

Possible Fix:
Make sure your email settings are correct in the "Admin Panel" and be sure to send a "Test Message" if it fails so will all account creations as it is unable to send verification email.

Bug 4 - Not sure if these were just created for future functionality.

Area: Admin Panel - Tools and Utilities
Bug:
The following buttons do not work:
Distribute an Email
Generate Backup
Enable/Disable Autostart
Add a Folder to VFS
Backup Databases
Restore Databases
Backup VFS to File
Restore VFS from File
Relocate User Folder
Recalculate Account Quotas

Workaround: None, just wait for enhancements.

In regards to

"MSI-based installer (for 32-bit systems only)"

fix was easy for x64 systems. Just move the folder from "Program Files x86" to "Program Files" Before running. And also change to run as "admin".

5) ... I have a LOT of plans   The cool part is that I think FHFS (as of 2.x) is at the stage where it finally "just works" (except on windows  so any future versions will be major rewrites with new features.  I actually use notepad to keep a list of all the things I want to do... copying it into Word tells me that I have written 22,000 words   

Can you tell me what features are not supposed to work right now so I don't list them as bugs? (Created new thread for ya for bug list, you can reply there)

OK the FTP issue. Not sure why it was not working last night, but it works properly now. Before it was not working but now it actually lists both links. (Sorry for the confusion)


And the last thing I mention about ftp was just my plans with it. its OK they have to activate it, no need to activate it by default.

So let me ask this since both programs are going to remain separate. Can I run  FHFS and HFS at the same time without running into issues? (Yes on different ports) and if so is there anyway to push the user names and passwords that are created from FHFS to HFS also and removes when removed from FHFS (Maybe they read from the same data base for user info?

Sorry just looking for a way to ease my life so I can use both programs as I need features from both at the same time.

Ya not sure why GMAIL will not work with this. I checked all my settings in Gmail and your program. But at least I got it to work using my cox.net email smtp account. So Im good for now in regards to email they send perfectly.

The creating a new account error was caused by emails not working. Now that emails send I don't get any errors.

And in regards to the FTP issue.

If i turn on ftp access or an account and connect to FHFS via FTP it does not populate the home directory. When I open up filezilla and look at the user the home directory is set to NULL. it shows both private and shared listed in filezilla as having access to them, but unable to as home is set to NULL. if i manual set "private" as their home it then works. (This is more of a code issue than anything I believe)

And I did disable the One account protection (Thanks for that) Is it being stored by users IP?

As far as what Im trying to accomplish see my reply to the other post.

Thanks for getting back to me.

Between the two post i made you had asked what was i really trying to to.

Hope I can explain it correctly.

To put it simply - I would like all the ability of HFS into FHFS.

I use FHS for the fact I can have family log into the server and access files I share with them and can restrict access to folders as needed.

I want to switch to FHFS for all the other things your creating.

Here is what i would love to be able to do.

1) Let someone come to my server (FHFS) and request a login by creating an account / but needs to be accepted by Admin be for account is created.
        Once admin accepted and account is created, an email is sent to users email address for verification. after witch their account is created.

2) By Default New accounts will only have access to Personnel Files. Shared files will need to be turned on by admin. And Public files (Files I allow everyone to view, but can still control access from within FHS) also need to be turned on\add to their account as needed.

3) Letting user who have an account, use FTP to backup their computer to my server into their Private Folders so only they can access backed up files as needed. (Users will be using "Cobian Backup" for ftp connecting and archiving. It compresses and encrypt their info as they see fit. (Also a Freeware Program))


I know I could do the above manually, but i like the idea users have control over their content/passwords. Interface is more informative now aswell.

Basically I would like to see HFS and FHFS be combined into one project. I know it will take time and alot of work on your part, but then in the end your only working on one project instead of 2. And with the ability to control most aspects from within Admin Panel it should help favor most everyone (I would think).

I really appreciate your continued efforts with that your doing. Keep up the great work.

I don't really know how to program, or make themes. But I have been known to fake it until I make it with many programming things. (Google is my friend). So if there is any tweaking I can help with or testing I can do for you let me know.

FHFS / Feature Requests

Here are some requests I would like to see.

1) In regards to "My Stuff" screen, I would like to see this "Private Files"  "My Shared Files" "Public Files"
.    "Private Files"     Would be nice if the admin had the option of turning this feature on and off for users. (Not show button at all)
.    "My Shared Files" Would be nice if the could be linked to the private files so there are not duplicates uploaded. Also password protect the downloading of them, set by the user as needed and password as needed. Also ability to turn on and off this feature for users.
.    "Public Files" Ability to turn on and off this feature"

2) Ability to Disable (Not Delete) Accounts.

3) Ability to disable the "Create a New Account!"

4) Change the "Create a New Account!" to "Request an account" and have the email go to admin for approval. Admin would approve in "Control Panel" and once approved email would automatically send to requested user for email verification.

5) Ability to turn on and off "Click to Open Public Uploader" access and access to the files.

6) Ability to change the file size limit and amount of files for Public Uploader

7) Layout Themes for user to pick from not just colors. (Not sure if this is possible now or not)

Log in page themes (Changeable in Control Panel)

9) ability to add/remove/edit requested optional info from new accounts.

10) Clicking login will force login to HTTPS site. (able to Turn on and off option)

11) During account creations force user to pick the 2 security questions.

12) Ability for users to check if they have been approved for an account or not (Via their email address)

13) Ability for users to have a auto resend validation emails if their account has been approved. (Via their email address)

FHFS / Email Issue / Adding Folders

Just discovered this FHFS. I like the options much more than HFS, but have some issues/questions

Just installed FHFS Server. Test email did not work.

Using FHFS 2.0.2

Also tried changing emailing account? (Tried two different providers one of them being google)

How do I fix?

Also if i go through the proccess of creating an account, I get an error after hitting submit. I belive this is due to the email not sending?

If I look in the sentemails folder and open the validation-test.html, and then click on the link i get an error 404 - file not found


And how do we use HFS now to add folders for users? It is now different than from before?

Like how can i add and control a public folder? I want them to have read only access to it. If I change the Permissions within HFS, the folder disappears from thier list of folders.

I would like to add folders all users can access and also set different permisions as needed for each folder within (Like with HFS currently)

Example: I want to give most users that log in access to a set of folders, but within that set of folders some people might not have access to everything and nobody access to delete anything and one folder for uploading for everyone to use (With or withour quota seperate from the private quota)


FTP Issue: Found out that FHFS is setting the home folder as NULL so we can connect to the private folder with out manually opening filezilla and changing the home directory for users.

Also started another post for feature requests.

Ok, I could not get my google email to work, but i did get my cox.net working for sending emails.

But where is the list of accounts at? I keep getting "You cannot create more than one account."

I need to edit the file so i can delete issues that arise such as this.

It would be nice if when uploading it would show a % of each file that is being uploaded, so the up-loader knows how much and what has been uploaded, Also with the option to cancel an upload per file during the upload process.

Is there a way to have a folder show the album cover instead of the folder icon for music folders? Already have the "AlbumArtSmall.jpg" in each album folder.
