SORRY PPL i have just updated the README, i forgot to tell you where to put Irfanview  :-[ so if you have downloaded already, re-download or reads this.

The Thumbnail and Preview Generator uses Irfanview all respects to the creator(s) of that
nice little utility.

I cannot distribute Irfanview with the ToG so to get this nifty program go here:

http://www.irfanview.com/
http://www.tucows.com/preview/194967

Please tell us if a new build of Irfanview does not work with the batch files, built using
Irfanview 3.99.

Put Irfanview in the 'Files' folder located within the 'Thumbnail and Preview Generator' folder.

I was just having a look at the preview on your hfs and i noticed that when you choose preview the box appears relative to the file on the web page, i was just wondering if it would be better if it appeared in the centre of the screen because i when i tried it the box appeared at a position lower then what i could see on the page, so i had to scroll down.
it isnt a big issue but i thought id mention it because its those little things that make the usability and the first impression a whole lot better.

You must be using IE6? I have programmed it that way, IE6 does not support fixed positioning, use Firefox, Opera or IE7 and you will find it stays in a fixed position on the screen.

Upgrade to the latest HFS build? simple fix lol, i even state it in the readme i think.

Sorry rejetto i thought of doing this but i do a lot to make my templates compatible with everything, i thought it was only logical to upgrade your HFS if it uses a new feature lol.

If i get another compliant the next build will have the fix.

Ok yes this is a big problem... ??? you sure you are using irfanview 3.99, it is untested with the latest build, haven't had time.

Go through every step of the batch file carefully. One stuff up can make the images not be made.

I understand a language barrier might be occurring, i cannot help you if you do not understand the batch file or the readme, as my language is English.

hmm, i don't have all those other files in there... just irfanview.exe and i_view32.ini maybe giant eagle did this for a reason...

i_view32.exe and i_view32.ini must be in the 'Files' folder.

firstly, the i_view32.exe and i_view32.ini, should be inside the 'Files' folder inside the 'Thumbnail and Preview Generator' folder.

lol, but it looks like you are doing the correct thing otherwise.

i've tried to change the location of the 2 files, but it still can't work...

I guess that it is the problem of the 'Thumbnail and Preview Generator.bat', it seems to be run uncorrectly in my computer

No, you have them all already lol, the 'previews and thumbnails' folder is present inside the folder where all your image files are. its really not that complicated.

Yes, cause the Thumbnail and preview generator doesnt use the other files. (it doesnt use i_view32.ini either, but the executable automatically creates this)

All you need to do is to put the i_view32.exe inside the "Hidden"  'Files' folder.

in your case: e:\template\Thumbnail and Preview Generator\files\ **put i_view32.exe here**

Hi, I encountered a problem with this template. I see that in the code, there is a variable %protected%, which doesn't really make sense to me. Therefore, in the directory list, there is always %protected% in front of file name and folder name. Is it a bug?
Title: Thunderchicken of Glory - 2.8.0 -
Post by: Giant Eagle on May 09, 2007, 12:23:31 PM
No, the template is specially designed for the latest 'unreleased beta' version of HFS.. therefore, in order to get it to work, you should update your hfs to build #100 (which is the latest beta)
Title: Thunderchicken of Glory - 2.8.0 -
Post by: TSG on May 09, 2007, 12:39:48 PM
It is not a bug, its your outdated HFS :) next release in about... 2 weeks... maybe... i don't i have time lately, too much university work to do, i will make a javascript to only show the 'check update' feature to localhost or 127.0.0.1, and i will also add in a small javascript to make the %protected%  (available since build #093... from memory... i could be wrong...) only show up if it exists, but if HFS is release stable in the meantime i wont bother with the %protected% hiding. It will be up the users to update their HFS or remove the feature from the template themselves.  AND ALSO you better watch out in the next build of ToG for the new ~folder.tar feature :) (available only with HFS #100 onwards)

If a feature does not work in this template... then go and update your HFS build, rejetto posts them up in the forum, i have used HFS #100 for a week or so now and it is very stable i assure you, i do not release a ToG with a new feature if i do not think the destined HFS beta with the feature is stable enough for the users to use the new feature with.

If you would like the template to show what build of HFS you are using, i cannot believe i forgot this :(, change the (build %version%) to (v%version% build %build%) and it will show the hfs version e.g. (v2.2 build 100) , it currently shows (build 2.2) which is completely wrong, sorry guys. Next build will fix this for sure ;)

Thanks for your replying. It's fixed :)

May I have a suggestion?

I like the front page of your template with the login. On that page I can add some fun stuff like the Meebo widget. However, it's quite inconvenient for others to log in to see the file list. Is there anyway to add the file list in a mini frame on that front page? Basically, I don't need the login, because when others trying to access a protected folder, they'll be asked for username and password anyway. I just need a front page with some empty space :D

Sorry, I don't know much about template.
Title: Thunderchicken of Glory - 2.8.0 -
Post by: TSG on May 09, 2007, 03:07:13 PM
Sorry i can't help with that i have no time. Just put an iframe... no that wont work... u'll have to change a lot of stuff to make the filelist be viewable in the [login-link] tag, its probably best if you use the no login version, and modify the login-link to have the login page inside a div tag then when u log in it disappears, and you have just the normal inside... and remember to move it to a place to suit aswell. But like i said i cannot help you any further on that, no time.

Another question, please?

Is there any way that we can make a divx not refresh after we move to another directory? I mean, make it permanent? I think we can modify the whole directory working in a frame, and only that frame change. But I guess I have to modify a lot of code, then?
Title: Thunderchicken of Glory - 2.8.0 -
Post by: Giant Eagle on May 10, 2007, 06:59:03 AM
Yea, we tried that.. but its not / barely working properly. because it is not a small frame we are talking about.. it almost covers the whole page.

And yes, you need to change alot ;D

ToG does not display properly for me.  Here's what I get when attempting to use the template in Firefox 2.0.  IE renders it fine.  The first image is Firefox, second is IE.  I get this no matter if I use the login or non-login template.  It is BEAUTIFUL in IE, but since IE blows, I use Firefox.

You have a problem with MIME types in HFS, try updating your HFS,
.css support can be manually implemented if that does not work, but HFS has been updated so we can use these external files properly.

IF you need to set a MIME type, MENU > Other Options > MIME Types.... > and add a new MIME type for *.css | text/css
and then it should work.

BUT update your HFS i think this is your problem.

If it isn't a MIME problem then i have no idea, the last ToG version was built using Firefox 2.0.0.3 and IE6/7 and Opera 9.20 to test and it works in all of them, hell its even working for me now in all of them :P FF = a real browser.

Lookout for a Thumbnail and Preview Generator with a GUI, COMING SOON  ;D thanks to Giant Eagle, i have no time for these things, i helped  :-[ kinda... i'm making the graphics for the GUI :P

P.S damn you for posting as i was typing :P had to change a few things... the forum is fast here ;)

ok i have attached a POSSIBLE GUI of the Thumbnail and Preview Generator here, the generator works so far, its just a matter of fixing functionality, warnings, error msgs, icons... etc... hope the users like it, the generator has the HFS logo in the header atm, but rejetto if you don't want us to use it thats cool, i can remove it easily, i just thought it looked cool. ALSO Giant Eagle got permission from the creator of irfanview, so we can now distribute Irfanview along with our templates :D

Yeah, it was the lack of a mime type for css.  Added that and all is kosher.  Everything I use is all 100% up to date, Firefox, ToG, and HFS.  The problem was, HFS was just tossed over top of the old one while keeping the same .ini so it just inherited the previous mime types without added the support for the new ones.

Ok, so this one eludes me...  I see no references to the %protected% variable and it shows up as an actual word in the display, even above in those screen shots.  Is that supposed to be a valid variable or am I missing something?
Title: Thunderchicken of Glory - 2.8.0 -
Post by: TSG on May 11, 2007, 05:01:52 PM
Your not using HFS 2.1 #93+ it is a new template feature that shows if a folder or file is locked or not :), all beta HFS builds with it have not been released stable yet, but i feel that build #93 and 2.2 #100 are very stable, i have used build #100 since release with no problems.

ye i know what you mean, still the link to the hfs build required to use all the features of the ToG, is in the main post, HERE (http://www.rejetto.com/forum/index.php?topic=3896.msg1019354#msg1019354), just below the download link. Build 100 is recommended cause it is newer than build #93 so the bugs have been ironed out on the %protected% feature, and build 101 is now out :) checkout the HFS forum for the build threads, rejetto always posts them under 'Testing build #XXX'.

And Todd, the GUI is actually finished, we are just testing and refining it now, due to release very soon. It just has some minor bugs here and there, and more features we want to add to it, so... we might release a first beta and go from there :D

Lookout for new template builds of ToG and Orange and Blue, i have 6 week holidays coming up YAY!

uhm, this has nothing to do with my template?

There is an option somewhere in HFS that will hide folders from users that aren't permitted to access them, i cant seem to find it and i'm too tired to look any further at the moment, someone will post with an answer soon.

<a href="%parent-folder%">&nbsp;«&nbsp;<b>Back</b></a>
Code: [Select]
[not found]
<h1>HTTP 404 -  Not Found</h1><a href="/">&nbsp;«&nbsp;<b>Back</b></a>

Code: [Select]
[unauthorized]
<h1>Unauthorized</h1>This is a protected resource.<br>Your username/password cannot be verified.<br><br><a href="/">&nbsp;«&nbsp;<b>Back</b></a>

Code: [Select]
<a href="%encoded-folder%" target=_parent>&nbsp;«&nbsp;Back</a>
Code: [Select]
<body>
<div class=er>%uploaded-files%<br><a href="%encoded-folder%" target=_parent>&nbsp;«&nbsp;Back</a></div>

So there is Â<<back in tpl.

Best regards

If you use another encoding method, other than Unicode, it appears.

Top image is Unicode
Bottom image is Western ISO

EDIT:
Fixed, forgot that it was in fact an ascii character &#171; = «

Next build will have that fix, it will also sport another new login screen, i am busy designing that on paper atm.

Just a quick note to all, I'm back in the ToG team so expect new features/changes to be imped as well
as they used to be. As always, keep firing your comments at us. I probably won't be as active on this
forum, but TSG should be able to forward any good ideas on to me.

As it is said in your intial post that your template is loosely based on Isohunt.com, if you had noticed there is a shoutbox where ppl are just making requests or asking for things...

is it possible o get that shoutbox integrated in the template i mean its a really cool thing

i am not sure if its a shoutbox or a sms box w.e its called but its pretty cool where ppl just write and click add.

Yes you can integrate shoutbox into our template. As a matter of fact, TSG's and my web servers HAVE the
shoutbox. I'm not sure if he'd want me posting the link to his server though so i won't :P

If you havn't noticed, my template has had a shoutbox in it since its creation, but if you search this thread, you will find the details on how to get one.

It is up to the user of the the template to set up the shoutbox, not me. I usually leave the code in the template ready for the same shoutbox that I use, its commented out.

It is up to the user to go to http://www.myshoutbox.com/ (http://www.myshoutbox.com/) sign up and follow the instructions to create a shoutbox of your own. I can supply a css stylesheet for you to make it look like the ToG, but the you'll have to find somewhere to host it.

well i am not quite familiar with the technical stuff.

but if i understand this, do you mean that you have already put a shoutbox in the code but it is inactive? and i have to simply remove the ** or // to activate it?

please advice thanks

The module for the shoutbox is in the code, you have to follow the instructions i gave in the last post to link the iframe to your personal online shoutbox.

EDIT: Sorry the last released build does not have the module, must have deleted it by accident, i am getting close to working on the login screen then i will release another build.

I encounter a problem with preview function:
if file has name like filename.JPG Prview doesn't work due to ignore sensitive match.
I've changed regular expressions in script.js.
Please look at and integrate if necessary.

I have a question. Is it possible to have the folders visible only to LOGGED in users? So guests will not see anything, that they don't have access to, listed in root dir?

Oh, and thanks for the nice template :) MP3 template is nice, though I wouldn't mind a volume control :P
Title: Thunderchicken of Glory - 2.8.0 -

Volume control is on your speaker my friend and in your system tray there :) I tried to imp that but it ads too much to the filesize of the player. And for your initial question, that has been answered in this thread already, you select the option in the HFS menu.

Virtual File System > List Protected Items For Only Allowed Users

v2.9.0 is coming...

I haven't decided on a date... but i am very close now...

I wont reveal too many surprises here...

On release... so far... it will require HFS 2.2 beta7 #110... it uses some of the latest features of HFS...

I may be totally wrong here, but I think "ember" might be a typo.  Maybe it should be "member". ;D

Ok people, i need someone to go to my test area and tell me if the .flv player works in IE7. I have just noticed it does not work in IE7, it could just be my browser or my codecs or something so i need some external person to test it for me.

If this is the case... im going to need some help getting it to work again, or im going to have to find another alternative. I do not like the jeorenwijering one whatever it is, cause it is huge and has too many options for my purposes. I just need a basic flv player.

I am thinking this isn't the player, but the javascript i write it to the page with... i dunno... thankyou for your future replies :)

it works for me, just the "drag here" feature doesn't
Title: Thunderchicken of Glory - 2.8.0 -
Post by: TSG on July 09, 2007, 03:34:35 AM
OK, drag doesn't work in Opera, but opera is retarded so i wont go there just yet. Drag does work in, IE6, IE7, Firefox. FLV Player works in IE6, Opera and Firefox but does not seem to work in IE7. I cant win lol.

THIS is the tutorial i used to build it. http://www.hunlock.com/examples/dragdrop.html and it works in opera... i don't think i screwed up the code lol...
Title: Thunderchicken of Glory - 2.8.0 -
Post by: rejetto on July 09, 2007, 03:44:37 AM
opera? you asked for an IE7 test, and that's what i did.
Title: Thunderchicken of Glory - 2.8.0 -
Post by: TSG on July 09, 2007, 04:24:06 AM
Oh ok??? well the drag function now works in Opera and i just tested IE7... so it seems to work everywhere... but as for flv playback in IE7 im not getting anywhere on this, some say it works, some say it doesnt... i think its the way i embed the object.... it would seem that IE7 has had trouble with flash objects just from googling.

So under my tests, Drag works under IE6,7, Opera, Firefox.

The Flv player works in IE6,Firefox,Opera.

Everything else is fine.

Gotta love testing :D

reading this thread, rejetto said he tested with IE7 *and* that the *drag-here* feature doesn't work which is contrary to what you are saying.

'Drag here' does not work with both IE6 and Firefox2. The tutorial page, however, works with both Firefox2 and IE6.

:D so congratulations, you screwed up the code

reading this thread, rejetto said he tested with IE7 *and* that the *drag-here* feature doesn't work which is contrary to what you are saying.

Thats cause i fixed the bug but i was in a hurry. Went to see transformers. The only thing wrong now is... when you activate the preview layer from a flv, the drag doesn't not initiate.... i think ino why. The problem with the player in IE7 was my flash plugin, i re-installed it and now its fine :)

btw transformers was awesome.

EDIT: Ok its fixed... i forgot to paste this in the flv code :P 'document.onmousedown=drgStart;'

I kinda have a question... Is that Folder Task available somewhere in the template already?... I saw it on your test server, and I think it is really cool :) Making users able to download full directories in .tar saves a lot of clicks... I am curious...

Thank you in advance ;)

PS: Keep up the good work! I just love your template!

Its a new feature in HFS, if you run one of the newest beta version, you can trigger the .tar by using this link: http://examplehost/examplefolder/ ~folder.tar

You were looking at v2.9.0 :D not released yet, its in beta testing now.

The goal is to pack more features into a smaller space with this build, so far so good.

Yeah.. I noticed that after I`ve put my mouse pointer on the ToG logo... :) But I didn't want to double post :P ...

Haha well i planned to release it 2 weeks ago, but i keep finding things to improve. I don't have time to do it when i'm at university, so i do as much as i can on my holidays when i'm bored. I have to admit i haven't touched it since yesterday. The code that is. So i could be close to a release.

Well release it ;) And if you find new things to improve.. you always have room for v2.9.1, v2.9.2 and so on :)

Anyway.. I hope that the next time i click "check for updates" on my ToG, I'll see that v2.9.0 is available :D

Good luck until then, and don't keep your fans waiting ;)
