HFS ~ HTTP File Server / Down load issues.......
« on: January 19, 2008, 09:54:25 PM »
When i am downloading from the HFS i can get a maximum of 35 kbs.
But some one else can also download and he gets 35 Kbs also.
In fact i can have 4 downloads running at the same time all at 35 Kbs.

So why cant i get 1 down load to run at 100 Kbs?
I have NO limits set.

Also looking at my download it shows a steady 35 Kbs, but looking at the HFS window it shows the same download jumping in speed...35,75,88,2,5,46,2,10,55,2,1,4,65, etc?

Why?

HFS ~ HTTP File Server / Uninstall issue
« on: January 18, 2008, 08:43:10 PM »
Seems my installation may be corrupt.
All types of stack errors and crashes.
Problem goes away if HFS is not running.
I would like to uninstall and reinstall.

How do I insure a complete removal from the reg?

I did.
No change.
I rebooted and now it shows 150 as the installed version #.
I did an upgrade to 164 again and the issues returned

The newest Dl 146 was just installed.
Now the HFS icon in the toollbar shows [hfs0].
I removed the dl and went back to 163. Still the wrong icon #.
Upgraded back to 146, wrong icon.
System runs w2000 pro sp4.
Seems to work ok though.

Installed on another cpu [xp sp1]icon shows 146.

Should I worry?

HFS ~ HTTP File Server / Re: Shortcut address length!
« on: December 06, 2007, 08:10:49 PM »
yes there are leading spaces.
I have no control over that.
That is the way they are.
Is there no way to eliminate that from the link?
Or at least shorten it after all it seems there asiging 5 charectors for 1 space. that does not make good sense to me.

HFS ~ HTTP File Server / Shortcut address length!
« on: December 06, 2007, 07:56:48 PM »
When I copy a shortcut to a file like:
http://wavlbr.gotdns.com/S:/%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20R%20E%20G%20I%20S%20T%20R%20Y%20%20%20T%20O%20O%20L%20S/Cter%20py/

And try to post it on my forum as a link it does not work. The length of the shortcut is too long.

Is there anyway to shorten it so it reads more like:
http://wavlbr.gotdns.com/S:/Cter20py/

Which is actually the file location and name?

HFS ~ HTTP File Server / Re: Download Speed Issue
« on: December 01, 2007, 04:05:44 AM »
I have tested my isp connection via speed test and others.
Upload speeds are always around 1500-1800 KBs.
That is of course withthe poerboost from comcast.

But even test sites with LARGE FILES that take a long time to rest avg better than 750k up.

When I am downloading a file from the HFS server I am getting 46k Upload.

Viewing the upload from within HFS I see the speed fluctuate from 25 k to 85k.

I think something is wrong.

Can someone please helpme?
