Now if I hide the *.vfs file from hfs it loads, then if I uncheck  reload on startup vfs it restarts ok so clearly it is in the (load)vfs area. besides it also does this when I try to load vfs after a good start. (I checked to make shure)
Also it drops an exceptions in the directory with HFS but I don't see a way to upload it without pastting and that might get ugly to people.

First I am sorry to reply to my own post but 1 I put no name and two the problem seems to be that I have too many VFS files listed but it may take a while to know for shure (Who knows maby there is a folder spelt in a way HFS doesn't like it.) But anyway don't beat your brains on this one if no-one else has the same resultz /error as I do when loading the VFS file system.
Thanks: Calhoon B)

Strange.  No problems here with Beta 4.  The only difference is that I'm running XP Pro SP1.

Maybe your vfs file is corrupt.  Try re-building it from scratch and try again.

that is not a fatal error
it suggests that something happend but it shouldn't
since it should not happen, i decided to treat it as an error
it is likely your VFS is invalid because there are 2 items with the same name in the same folder
i think you will fix your problem re-saving the VFS, because when that error message appears, the "duplicate" is skipped
