Ive added a folder to HFS but the folder and files it lists when i browse it thru my browser doesnt match up with the actual folders and files that are in the folder.
there is 140 objects in the folder but HFS only lists 34 folders and 2 files.
ive tried checking the setting to list hidden and attributes files/folders but that only made one actual systemfolder show up. so thats not the issue.
i have added folders using "real folders" and im using version: 2.3f Build #294

Hi, and welcome! :)
Are you using "Virtual Folders" or "Real Folders" in HFS?
Try again configuring HFS to use Real Folders...
-
sorry, forgot to mention that im using real folders. so thats not the issue.

Maybe this (http://www.rejetto.com/forum/bug-reports/real-files-not-showing-contents/msg1042753/#msg1042753) can solve your problem?...
-
thanks, but as i said. i already tried listing files with hidden/system attributes.
-
you have certainly a dual folder in your vfs with same name probably with one renamed after have added this as real folder

no, i have no dual folders. and havent renamed any folders.
this is what i did:
1. installed software
2. added "folder1" (choosed real folder)
3. added "folder2" (choosed real folder)
4. went to http file server webpage to see how it looked
5. saw that it didnt list all folders

You checked the hidden attribute, they are not going to show up in the HFS list...
since it is added as a real folder selection it inside HFS will give its http path in the top to open in browser, can you go to that path and enter that folder ?
Did you hide if via windows hidden or HFS hidden properties

well, the hidden attribute i checked AFTER i noticed it didnt show all folders. so the problem/error was there before i changed anything.
but sure, ill play along and try that.
edit: actually, after reading your post again im not sure what you mean..
i meant that i cant see them in the WEBBROWSER when listing the folders i shared.. i know they dont show up in the NFS program/list.
and i havent hide any files. i meant that i activated the "list hidden files" and "list system files" in the HFS program after i realised i couidnt see all folders in the WEBBROWSER.

as moderator, i have access to your ip and can look what is as failing
this is not an attempt at fraudulent introduction into your server
is it your hfs server which give the page containing "Where am i!?" at http://xx.xx.xx.xx

ok, yes thats correct.
tho i have shutdown the hfs-server now as it isnt working anyway. no need to have it up until it works correctly. only has it online while i try to solve the issue. but i can put it online again..

I have not enough time tonight, we'll see that in the following days if no solution was found between time ;)

sorry for the late reply.
How exactly do you know they are 140 ?
that may be the number of items within the sub-folders.
you should provide some screenshot, it would be clearer.

IF you use windows "hidden" attribute and add those files and folders to HFS, HFS will not list them within a Webpage
(still access to download!)
when adding a folder to HFS, no all objects "become" add within HFS
a real folder will host what it finds when it is added....
You clears stated that changed windows file attributes quote: " hidden and attributes files/folders but that only made one actual systemfolder"
The system folder will also not show UP!
With in HFS, right click proprieties / flags > There is also file setting for hidden...
You will have to add all the files / folder (even the hidden one) TO HFS Because you "hide the files like that"
just right click your real folder and add the items with in it....
Then you can set HFS permission for "no download / hidden etc..etc...
There are other form post that clearly show "hidden folder" specifically to "hide" them.... look them up!

no, im not using hidden files.
and you quoted me really wrong! i said that i tried to check the setting to show hidden files in HFS, and that made ONE extra folder show up. and that folder was a system folder.
so you can forget about hidden folders and attributes making the folders hide from HFS.
but actually you can forget about helping me as well. :)
people here seem to be more about telling me im doing something wrong and that the software is right, than to actually help me with the problem.
so i just gave up and ditched the software. maybe ill come back when you fixed that issue in the software.
meanwhile ill just look for some other software.
thanks!
-
??? whatever...
why are you trying to show hidden files if there no hidden files to show...
I can't reproduce your problem, therefore its user error....
i even gave a way to "fix it"...
so your on your own ...

> Two questions: Where are your shared files located? Where you have HFS installed?...
Because I've read that, locating files or programs inside "Program Files" or "Documents and Settings" folder (or any other system generated folder), can give you headaches (like strange problems) like you are having.
Try installing HFS on C:\HFS\
and sharing files from C:\TestFiles\
