Title: Download box

whenI place a link to a Download on my forum, it opens a nw browser page and a dialog box for the download. The webpage shows the address of the download. I do not liek this.

I have seen other sites that only open the download dialog box, not an aditional browser page, ther is no address information displayed.

is this possible with HF too?

Yes, but what you want is a direct download link, and your forum most likely automatically turns [url ] [/url ] BB code into <a href="URL" target="_blank">MY LINK</a> HTML, the _blank opens the new browser window and starts the download. What you want is the ability to stop this target="_blank" in the forum for your links. You don't want to do it to other links otherwise people will leave your page ;) and the secret is that all external sites get opened in a new page so you don't lose traffic.

i don't think it is related to HFS, but to how the link is posted in the forum.
and that's also what TSG is saying.
