Fresh install (#137), i just added a new music folder that is around 1.25gb and contains 435 files. When i tried to access it it took forever to load and after a minute or so it presents you with a white page.
ELEVENNNN had this problem aswell on his website, after around 20 minutes the folder was accessable normally tho.
Anyone else had anyhing like this?

what about CPU and memory usage?
-
It spikes to 8% for a moment then back to normal, ram doesnt increase at all.
If you want to try it, just put my ip address in your browser. You can see my ip, right?
The filelist, however, does work.

i guess there's nothing to see in a stuck webserver
try moving out some files until you find the minimal set of files hanging the server
-
:S i have no idea.
Suddenly after a refresh (did nothing to the real folder) it loaded the page. From this moment on, just like ELEVENNNN's server, it loaded the page normally.
I cleared my .vfs and re-added the music folder. The same problem re-occured and i started to delete files until there were only 3 files left. The page loaded normally this time. After putting back all the music files it still loaded normally.
Does this make you any wiser?

Y prepared a folder to test with build #137
411 archives - Total: 1,24 GB
takes less than a second to load the folder (Athlon64-3000, 1.7GHz, 640Mbytes of 2 GBytes in test machine, WINXP SP2)
Look for 'strange' not alphabetical signs in your filenames, some cause problems that avoid displaying the filename, also very long filenames joined to a long folderpathname may produce some problem.

They contain normal english characters..
besides, they all do load after a while
This only occurs on a fresh install of HFS.

HFS has to cache the file directories I think, if you are testing with your 500mhz fileserver... cpu, hdd speed, ram, and the various clock speeds could be the blame here. Basically the slower the system is the longer it takes for HFS to get the information needed.
I just did a test with a FAIR amount of songs 32gb ... and it works fine on my machine, 2.2ghz AMD Athlon 3500+, 2gb ram, SATA Hard Drives

i tested it on my Intel E6600 2.4GHz, with 2gb ram using winxp pro sp2
i can reproduce the problem over and over again

a little
can you "find the minimal set of files hanging the server" ?
