How to add mime-type .xpi ? Adding application/x-xpinstall didn't help  :'(

"application/x-xpinstall" is correct.
what's going wrong exactly?

For the rest, the correct functioning do not depend of hfs, but of Windows system. (I hope it) ;)

Mars, thanks for your reply, but Windows file associations isn't case of mine :-)
When i click on Mozilla's site on the .xpi link immediately the proposal to install the addon pops up.
But when i click on my site, i get nothing, but prompt to download.

what about
expert mode

menu -> other options -> mime types

xpi

application/x-xpinstall

shouldn this be the mime type for firefox extensions ? : - /

for me it works :) after i clicked open directly in browser and added ;*.xpi

In menu -> other options -> open directly in browser
(under mime types )

but only works when i visit my site over the dns

when im local it doesnt work : - /
