Hey.

I know some people are having this problem, I love HFS so I almost ignore it but my music folder is all but inaccessible.  How many people have the problem where they click a folder and it just sits at replying and never resolves, then it just stops like nothing happened and they can go to another folder just fine.  I know there are some others besides me, would the people who have had this happen please post so this can hopefully get resolved.  Please confirm this is a bug in HFS and not how xbrowser handles traffic with xfunction, etc..

@ Mr. Me, please tell anything that happens during the attempt
@ Rejetto, do you know why this is occuring?

Not to be a bother, I love HFS like I said I just ignore it, but me wants some remote muz3x

Mine hardly ever comes back on the next click.  It generally takes abou 4 clicks, and perhaps 5 minutes from what me and GE have seen.  (i never get it when hes not around <_<) Can we firm up a reason why this happens.  GE said it is related to a large number of files in the folder you and trying to access, has this been the case for you?

I have this with somes JPG-Folders, but it is not reproducible at all times.
Sometimes it doesn't resolve, next time it resolves immediately.

I was thinking about posting to find a common basis for why this is happening, but I thought I'd wait a day. now that you (rejetto) have commented I think I will just affirm that question.

Can we try to narrow this down, of the people who have posted its happen, can you remember what contents were in the folder you were trying to pull...

thus far, its only happened to me on folders with large amounts of files. (mp3)... I found that when I removed the hidden folder it loaded, but this is probably just a coincidence (sp) because after several trys it seems to always load up the folder.

Opinions guys?
Rejetto, i'm staying at a buddies house and I brought my external with me so I can't try to reproduce the problem now.  Others who want to get involved go for it.

Its easy, i find i can reproduce it with about 200 items in a folder., It must take hfs a while to cache up the files or template or something. I will have a play again.

BTW i've finished university for the year, so expect some action from RAWR Designs !@

Its easy, i find i can reproduce it with about 200 items in a folder.
It looked at my 2 folders, where it happens. One folder got 199, the other 745 items.
But I am not able to reproduce it. At the moment it happens only once in a while.
But it happens only in these 2 folders. In my other folders are far less files or subfolders.

I started about 2 weeks ago with build 124 and I didn't notice such a symptom for about 6 days. Then I automatically updated to build 138 and I then noticed it for the first time: I could not access these folders for hours. Because I thought it might be a symptom of the new build, I switched back to 124 but the problem stayed. Now, a few days later iit only happens once in a while.

Great news TSG! Congrats on another year bla blah blah.. I'll be home in a few hours and I'll see if its simply just a folder with alot of files in it or if there is more to it then that.  When you got these results that are really simple to reproduce, was it all files of the same format, or does it matter?

I'm pretty sure you'd have to be using b140 because you have search up and working, nice job on that by the way.

Both topics are related to the same problem you discribe here

I can reproduce this easily, just add a folder with ~ +200 / +300 files and it wont load, not even after refreshing. It will load after you've let HFS online for about 30 - 45 minutes. After that, it works forever from that moment on. It doesnt seem to appear on all the pc's i've been on (like the pc's we have on school). But it does do so on both my home pc and my laptop.

Straaange bug..

I did some more testings and these are the results:

Code: [Select]
Test-Folder contents:
    146 images - 198mb
    90 mp3 files - 750mb

HFS #136 - #141: ALL FAIL! Doesnt load the folder at all.
HFS #135: No problems at all, smoothly loads the folder. (tested it 3 times, even tested #132 - #134)

More test results using #136:

The images alone:
    146 images - 198mb          - Doesnt work
    101 images - 154mb          - Doesnt work
    100 images - 154mb          - Does work!

The mp3 files alone:
    90 mp3 files - 750mb         - Does work
    100 mp3 files - 770mb        - Does work
    101 mp3 files - 775mb        - Doesnt work

I think its a 100 files limit.

Can anyone confirm this??

100 files seems like a very low ceiling.. does anyone else know? from what we've seen the format doesnt matter correct?
