I'm using HFS 2.3b255 also tried earlier versions and is the same.
Since HFS home starts working right, then go to the browser (Firefox 3.6) after a few seconds and does not work, I click the icon in the SystemTray and unresponsive and I have to kill the process, sometimes I get the application error : Hidden Layered Windows.
What could it be?

Two days ago I got the following application error:
Hidden Layered Windows: hfs.exe - Application Error
The instruction at "0x1000ec0e" referenced memory at "0x00000ba4. The memory could not be "read".
stops working and my HFS server (for port 80).
under Windows XP SP3.

after much testing the PC
FINDINGS comes to the problem because the PC works with 512 MB of RAM and Windows 7 uses approximately 350 MB and opening multiple windows, HFS fails. Anyway should not do that, but all due to low ram

later, the website is no more, but when it works but too slow sorry website

the executable gives no error if the work as if everything went OK
not know what else to say it must be a compatibility issue, also in the properties of the executable I put compatibility with Windows XP SP3, and nothing.

Ya probé con Firefox v3.0.5, Opera v9.64 e Internet Explorer v6
con sus configuraciones por defecto y sigue haciendo lo mismo,
no hay otra forma de obtener esto?,
ya veo que el HFS toma esta fecha del idioma del sistema operativo,
yo tengo Windows XP sp3 en español, tendra esto algo que ver?
