When uploading a file from a folder having a name which consists of odd numbers of Chinese characters like [測] or [測試中] or [測試測試中],
the file is shown uploaded in the log,
but actually not uploaded to the harddisk.

for example,
uploading a file [test.rar] in a folder [測試中],
what the log shows is:

Uploading 測試中\test.rar
Fully uploaded -  14.88 KB @ 952 KB/s

You may notice that the folder name appears on the log which normally doesn't

However,
uploading a file [test.rar] in a folder [測試],
it works just fine..

I know it is kind of odd but I've tested it on the default template and on a different computer, so..

edit: I've just done some tests ag and found out that this bug even exists in build 145..
Haven't done any further as I don't know how many versions I have to test...

edit2: btw any news for the 99% bug?
I've met it many times when doing the tests...

Now i remember that a similar problem was fixed years ago.
I tried to apply the same solution to next beta.
In this case i cannot reproduce the problem, so mine is a blind action. I need your feedback on the fix.

crazyboris, i don't know if your problem is related to the one reported by dayletter. Indeed his problem is related to unicode names with an odd number of bytes. I checked your characters, and they are even (2 bytes each one). I put a further control over the upload, so maybe next build will warn you about being impossible to upload such file. Let me know.

i didn't work on it lately, but now we have a new tool "dump traffic" that may help. i will ask someone to make a test.

dayletter, i'm waiting for your answer to my last mail. the content was

Quote from: my email to you
Please, re-test using this new build [omitted, the last beta is good for your test]
It will show the name of the file it is trying to create.
Copy for me the error message you see on the browser, and the one you see
in the HFS log.

What?
I've replied to you at the same day you sent me the mail...

Anyway,
here's the result:

browser: test.txt: FAILED --- Error creating file: D:\Upload\測試中\test.txt
HFS log: Upload failed, Error creating file: D:\Upload\測試中\test.txt: 測試中\test.txt

I got some questions for you, so i know better your problem.

1. does folder 測試中 actually exist in D:\Upload ?
2. is its content browsable via HFS with your browser locally?
3. open notepad, or word, or anything, and save in folder 測試中. does it save correctly?
4. HFS -> menu -> save file system -> try to save in folder 測試中. does it save correctly?
5. HFS -> log menu -> log to file -> D:\Upload\測試中\test.log   now, make some activity logged (like browsing). Is the file specified log file correctly created?

1. yes
2. now as you mention, I just found out that there's something weird about it!

At the first time I tried, it doesn't work.
With the terayon template it's just a blank page,
with the default template HFS even gave out an error (forgot to take a screenshot, my bad)!

After messing around suddenly it works again (again forgot what I have done...)
With the terayon template it's still a blank page,
but with the default template it is browsable with no errors!
However with the terayon template it worked one time! (now I am confused...)

Got to sleep now...will try more one this tmr.

3. yes
4. yes
5. yes

Damn...I missed a very important thing...
I've just found out that the upload bug does not happen to Firefox!

yes, it's important.
do this
1. enable other options -> dump traffic
2. reproduce the bug with IE
3. rename hfs-dump.bin to hfs-dump-ie.bin
4. do the upload with FF
5. rename hfs-dump.bin to hfs-dump-ff.bin
6. send me those files in email
