I don't know if i experienced a bug or if it was just bad luck. I put a 4.5 gigabyte file in alpha 5, but when my friend started to download it it only reported as 800 megabyte or something like that. Are there any limitations on the filesize maybe?

hfs has pratically no file size limit
the limit is in the client (browser) you used
please search the forum, you can find a post where this thing has been discussed

mr.anon:
1. yes, HFS will prevent uploading files from being downloaded/listed
Quote
2. What I meant is that a delete function when using a trigger. For ex:
---HFS Trigger #1---
C:\Unzip.exe -extract %files%
del %files%
---End Trigger #1 ---
why should HFS do it? just create a batch file

there will be a list of pairs: filemask, command
commands will be called upon uploaded files for files matching the filemask
form data will be saved in a temporary area, and made available to external programs.
the temporary area will likely be a global atom. [ see globalGetAtomName() ]

BA6-1: Multiple "new user" user Bug
HFS does not check whether if multiple users called "new user" are created. Can you fix that? I know other names will make an error but usernames called "new user" doesn't make a error. (Username: "new user" are without the quotes.)

When are you going to see the upload trigger function? Anytime soon?

BA6-2
upload progress & right click menu:
       - UL Speed - not shown (Yet  ?)
       - UL pause - not working (Yet  ?)
       - ULs # in task-bar icon tool tip - not shown (Yet ? )

BA6-3 IP-Ban->cancel - not working

UP speed - is much better!
Win98 resources - still - killing the PC ...

HFS works great as a HTTP web server... I can serve pages very easily. Is there a way that HFS will auto open a particular HTML file when someone logs onto my server... or opens a particular directory?

Could there be an option for this... or a special file name that you could name an html file so that it will automatically open when someone opens the directory that contains it?

If I am already missing this feature then I am sorry... but please let me know!

when you save options, users are saved as well.
to import/export, just save options to file.
it is a simple text file you can edit/copy/paste...

The icons often fail to load when browsing. Tried in both IE and opera and they  failed to load on both. If I right click on the image and chose "load image" in opera it will load, and the same goes for IE. It's the file icons and the "up" icon when in a sub folder that fails for me.

I don't get a red x, it's just not loading properly. Didn't see this in Alpha 5 though.

The icons often fail to load when browsing.

iv had the same  bug
it appers to happen only when you load hfs (autoload's the file system) or when you manualy load the file system from a saved  database ,

e.g  when you go to the root dir for your  hfs, you will get a box within a box ( with out the red x (indicating file couldent be loaded)  ) this appers to sujest that the  html page is either skipping loading the icon or  loading to fast for th eicons to be displayed properly.

observations:

1. if you  go in to a folder  then back tot he room  the icons will apper.
2. if you right click on a missing icon select show image , the icons will apper.
3. if you  manually re add all hfs virtual and real folders with out  restoring from a back up file system the problem dosent exist

hwoever if yu go back and manually re add all of the folders e.t.c  ( with out using a saved database) the icons work properly

on a side note iv had another error  whislt  trying to add  a resorce to share    it happens when switching from 1 drive to another e.g  from c:\  to d:\ (just  give you a bug report ( next time it happens ill post) but as far as i can see dosent affect the  program running )
