Title: Online video mkv player

Hello, is there any template where i can add mkv videos and play it online from hfs? im currently using an old template i dont even remember whats it called, which uses vlc plugin and can play only avi, when i try to play mkv it breaks after few second of playback
and also, can i add multiple accounts to one server? cuz i would like one for myself and few for friends with limits
im noob at this so please be gentle

i prefer to use live 3.0 template, but to play mkv, the fix is to add the mime type to hfs...

hfs > menu > Other options > mime types

put a check mark in the box ("Open directly in browser when MIME type is defined")
added/change (see picture of the mime types)

File Extension   MIME Type
mkv   video/divx

does it work with video/x-matroska ?

yes, it also works with that mime type rejetto

yours is the offical mimetype. the difference in the mimetype and why isupplied divx, is that he specfical has VLC, and vlc will encode and decode hat over divx, without much if any chage to the template he is using.

what if i add the official mimetype to HFS in the default configuration? would it be good?

yes, there should be no difference, vlc will still take it as it encoding etiher way.

Added an entry. mkv>video/divx
the files started playing, but without sound. what to do?

файлы начали проигрываться, но без звука. что делать?

всё нормально. разобрался.  проблема была в самом видео файле- другие файлы формата .mkv открываются со звуком
