HFS ~ HTTP File Server / Re: a new beginning...
« on: December 31, 2021, 06:43:06 PM »
Hi Rejetto, just stopping by to say hi and happy holidays! The new rewrite looks like a cool project. I agree it's probably best to move beyond Delphi. It had a long and successful life. I hope you have fun writing the new version!

You might find it interesting to know that these days I am a professional software engineer and I'm proud to say that HFS and its template scripting is how I got my (unconventional) start.

FHFS / Re: FHFS: Is there going to be any update on this?
« on: September 30, 2016, 07:56:09 PM »
Maybe I'll upload FHFS to github or something.  I didn't want it on sourceforge because it gave the impression that it was a solid finished product and while it once was, I haven't maintained it in a while.  Plus, Sourceforge was flagging it as infected due to HFS which was annoying :/

Anyone that really wants to download FHFS in the meantime can go here

FHFS / Re: FHFS is being superceded by new software - looking for developers
« on: September 04, 2016, 11:18:16 PM »
Just in case anybody cares, here's the current story.   FHFS was in active development in 2011 and 2012, and the second half of 2013.  In April 2013 I started a new project that was meant to replace FHFS, and by August 2014 it was mostly done.  It was then used in a production environment from August 2014 - January 2015, then the site was retired.  I never released it because it was never quite finished on the admin side and it had a single fatal design flaw that resulted in me rewriting a lot of it in February 2015, but that fell by the wayside.  Since then, I have not worked on FHFS or Andromeda or any related project.  I may or may not start an Andromeda 2.0, but as for now, consider both FHFS and Andromeda to be dead projects.

HFS and Owncloud are nice choices at the moment  :)

I tried updating all the binaries with FHFS and immediately there was a new bug with logging in.  Apparently HFS now doesn't let you add more than one cookie per request unless you use ; to separate them.  I don't have the time to spend debugging and troubleshooting and updating this project, and unfortunately it's just old and probably more insecure than I can fix.  So, I've removed the Sourceforge pages and I'm calling it officially discontinued.  Anyone who really wants source code or to download it can message me here.

FHFS / Re: All users suddenly missing!
« on: September 02, 2016, 03:18:42 PM »
what OS are you running?

a sever os?

or clinet os?
(xp - win 10) ?

there are know issues with hfs running on server based os....

I highly doubt your server actually lost any data.  The VFS is rebuilt dynamically, it isn't really saved anywhere.  It sounds like your server was moved or had something weird done that caused it to be unable to access it's configuration files. Putting everything back to the way it was would solve that.  I'm quite sure that that problem doesn't just happen and you or the server or someone else must've moved an FhFS file.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I was under the impression that the security vulnerabilities in HfS were due to its template and not the executable itself.  If that's the case then FHFS is not affected since it uses its own templates.

You could also pay someone $10000 to go about a huge project where you use HFS macros to launch command line PHP which then uses the LDAP extension :P

Also I'm pretty sure that windows directory logins are only a thing when used with IE.

FHFS / Re: is this the admin console ???
« on: May 12, 2015, 12:38:22 AM »
Not sure what you mean.  I don't think that file is even available for download anymore.

But no the admin console only works with FHFS.

FHFS / Re: Upload file auto-rename in host

Indeed it is.  Log on as an administrator and go to the admin console.  Then find the feature (in the second box down on the right) labeled 'Generate Random URLs' and uncheck the box next to it, then save the settings.

HFS ~ HTTP File Server / Re: Improving security
« on: September 18, 2014, 08:07:27 PM »
On a scale from 1 to 10 how applicable are these security concerns to FHFS then if they were on the client side?

Rejetto, maybe you can email me info on the hacks and I'll see if they need to be fixed in FHFS.

Maybe Daniele would be willing to review the security of FHFS even? :D

FHFS / Re: 500 - This account is missing it's root file folder
« on: September 18, 2014, 07:41:21 PM »
I just noticed something.  I think 2.1.0 has a bug where it responds with "500 - This account..." if you try logging in with a user that doesn't exist at all.  Not sure why that happens.
