yes use the external ip from outside your network but on your side you have two possible choise your lan ip wich can look something like 192.168.xxx.xxx or 10.0.0.xxx or localhost followed by the port you set in hfs so it should look like this
http://localhost:yyyy or http://192.168.xxx.xxx:yyyy etc, etc.

that seems like a nice feature as to know if everybody will use it i doubt it but it is surely usefull in some situation
