Yea I figured as much, only concern was because some of the IP's are tracing to China/Japan, etc.

HFS ~ HTTP File Server / Spammed "Requested HEAD /"
« on: October 22, 2011, 02:17:26 PM »
Recently I've been getting a lot of Requested HEAD spam in my log file from various IP addresses.
Other then banning, is there anything I can do to curtail this from happening?

No luck. Not really a biggie, just was seeing if there was a simple fix.

If you have generated them then it should work, strange that it doesn't.

Can you install RAWR-Template and try, they both use similar code. If it won't work for either, you didn't create thumbnails.

The standard ToG I have here is working fine though.

I'm using RAWR 0.1.3 currently. Not sure if the issue is from upgrading TPGen or RAWR as I did both at the same time. I have deleted the thumbnails/previews and re-ran TPGen with no luck.

I just also tried the RAWR-Template settings in TPGen, same issue.

This version? Its working for me here.

Sorry, yes I meant 3.0.1. Is there a setting I can check so the thumbnails will show up on the left of the file name. The preview works fine.

I upgraded to the latest TPGen and have just one issue.

When looking at my images through the browser, the thumbnails don't show the actual pictures anymore.

This is what they all show now:

Any idea what may have changed, or if I'm missing a setting?

RAWR-Designs / Re: Rawr Template 0.1.3 - Modules Mod Release

Just installed these modules and they are great!

One question, is there any way for deleted files/logs to be output to the HFS log screen? I like to see if something is deleted. (Before upgrading they used to show up in Blue)

Well I think I found the source of the problem. It's the add-on "NoScripts" (disabled add-ons one at a time).
In particular it's a new setting added in 2.0. Options -> Advanced -> ABE uncheck WAN IP.

It's looking like it happens when I start up my FF browser and leave it on as the pings start at that time. Wonder if it's an add-on. Guess I'll have to disable one-by-one to see if i can pin it down some more.

another thing you can do is to enable "dump request" in the log menu just for the moment the strange connection happens.
it should be easy since you said it's very regular.

I did that, but it doesn't tell me much.

use a software like tcpview or cports to see if it's a software running on your computer

Yea I just analyzed the HFS logs some more and it starts up as soon as I sign into my laptop in the morning, odd.

could it be your router?

I haven't changed any settings on my router for months so I doubt it.
