Title: the Option don't work:max simultaneous downloads from single address
Post by: yhm_7 on February 11, 2007, 12:27:15 PM
I have set max simultaneous downloads from single address to 3,but when i use flashget to down a file(split file to 50 part
s),hsf show 50 connections to transfer files。
restart hsf , still can't to limit connection。

i have found the reason.
when "don't count as download:mask " been set to "*.*" ,  "max simultaneous downloads from single address" will lost its function to limit.

actually I don't want hsf to count any files's download. I set *.* at "root", but it not work with subfolder.
I wish hfs have a option to on/off the function that "count download  files".  if option is on, hfs can count files' download according to user's  mask set.  And if option is off, hfs will not count any download, though uesr has set file mask.

i think you are misunderstanding the "count" word.
it is ambiguous: it is "count" as "take into account", not as numbering.

what's your goal with setting *.* for this option? maybe you are using the wrong option.

i plan to rename the feature "don't count as download"
in "don't consider download"

has someone a better description? any advice?

with *.* as mask, I want to let program ignore all files . Because I don't need the function to count or number hits.

maybe hfs use this account to realize other function, but it should have a single option.

Anyway, now if i (1) use *.* to ignore all file;  (2)set max simultaneous downloads from single address to 3.
the 2nd option will not work to limit connection in 3,just like this option is "blank",no limit.

i think (2) can work just like your said before, "count" is not only number Hits,it also as "take into account" in other progresses.

ok, then you are misunderstaning, as i guessed.
that's not the way to do it.
remove the *.* setting, because it is only giving you problems and no gain.
the only way to remove the "counting" is to edit the template.

you can't disable counting, you just hide it by editing the tpl.

you ask why? counting (increments) for 1000 files takes 0% CPU and only 0.004 megabyte (4kb). no real gain.
