Did you all that time execute 2 instances of hfs (hfs.exe and hfs242.exe)?

Did you execute hfs242.exe from desktop (and have you on desktop hfs.ini, hfs.tpl, Filesystem.vfs) ?

If your problem occurred only once after a program crash, i think the cause might have been a temporary memory problem.

If the problem repeats, clean up your tempfiles directories.

To resolve the problem of 'excess of vegetation', put all hfs related things (program, files, template folders..) you have on the desktop to a dedicated hfs or hfs2 directory. Also, dont forget that you can put most of your shortcuts to the start menu. This is handier than having dozends of shortcuts on the desktop.

there's no need to test 245.
if it is working, it's just by chance ;)
you will get the error, before or later.

anyway, i think i fixed now. Next version (246) will have this fix. (will be published soon)
thanks for reporting
