When I share a sub folder with the parent "Browseable" the template looks like this:

When I change the parent to be non browseable it looks like this:

I would like it to look like this:

you won't control the template from the "front end".
the BEST way to do what you're asking is to leave the template untouched while applying a seperate modification.

right click on the root > properties > diff template
enter this text: [box panel]
followed by 3 ENTER keys
