Does HFS support Hyper Threading / Multi Core CPUs?

As the headline reads: does HFS program benefit from more than 1 core/thread or its a single thread program?

the last i checked it was only using 1 core. while it does have code to support 2 cores. HFS i have found is more ram resource intensive than CPU intensive.
