Hi tudor81!

Try with the new feature:

Menu > Other options > OEM file names for TAR archives

checked = OEM
Unchecked = ANSI

In # 282 I found that if you create a directory whose name is 0 or 00, the folder window from the right, also named it HOME, although it works correctly.

Hi. For me, HFS isn't saving the file system and settings properly anymore, even though I go through and save the file system then the settings to file, registry (current user), and registry (all users) every time I use HFS, and I also have it set to automatically save the settings.

It seems as if HFS only remembers the settings that I gave it when I first set it up.  The hard drives and folders are there, but the hard drives revert to their original drive letter, and don't retain the name I gave them.  This is true even when I load the file system that I saved.  The folder permissions also revert back to what I originally set them to when I first ran HFS, and I have to re-select my HTML template whenever I start HFS or else it looks all screwed up.

I'd rather not have to go through and change all these settings every time I start HFS... Could someone lead me in the right direction?  ???

Folders and folder permissions are part of the VFS, not HFS settings (hfs.ini) so try saving the VFS or enabling auto-save.

Turns out I needed to run HFS as an administrator, since I placed it in program files.  Got it all resolved now and it works great, thanks  :)

So, any plan on updating/upgrading the build version? Because this version has so many bugs and not solved yet.

Hi ! :)

"many bugs"... What bugs?

... be clearer, this topic is here for that.

hi all. I'm a newbie that want to try this hfs ver 2.3. It seems that your link is dead. Every time i try to download the .exe file from dovedove.it it's always 404 error.
Could someone fix this error please.
Thank you for your attention.

rejetto link is dead

download the FHFS pack archive at http://sourceforge.net/projects/fhfs/files/2.0.x/2.0.0/FHFS%202.0.0%20Packaged.zip/download

extract and rename server.dll to hfs.exe

This version works great for me but I think it needs some additional basic features like Sign out next to the User that's signed in.

Also the access feature doesn't work, so if I created two folders in the ftp root folder either virtual or real and provide access for user1 to folder1 and access 2 to folder 2.. user1 will still be able to view folders.

if I disable users from accessing root folder, they won't be able to access anything, and if I provided them access to folder 1 only with root access. they'll be able to see everything.

I'm assuming this could be a bug or programming error isn't it?

I have noticed something that looks like a bug, I set two folders and set different credentials for each... when I type user1 for folder one it access it..
when I type user2 for folder 2 .. the credentials which is sent to the HFS server for user identification and password are user1 not user 2.. this is what I could see in the HFS activity.

I have to press 5 times in order for the right credentials to get sent.

Hope this would help you improve this great piece of software

this is a problem related to how the browser handles authentication.
In HFS 3 authentication will be custom (as most softwares out there already do) and the problem will disappear.

i now fixed the problem, but i noticed it is cached in the browser so the link may not work for you until your cache is emptied.
Quick solutions:
1. open an incognito/private browsing window. It's not affected by the cache.
OR
2. open a different browser

Dot.TK removed my FHFS domain because they saw HFS as a virus :'(
