Well, I found out what caused this 406 error. btw, it comes from Live2, not from HFS. Wanne see a screenshot?  ;)
I used to have Stunnel in front of HFS. If this is disabled, the status window works, if Stunnel is enabled, it does not work.
Since I never got any trouble with Stunnel in Live1, so I considered it to be harmless... At the end of the day it was my fault,
the status button works ok...

I used the temporary reset option, even reset the file system, but still no streaming. Guess I'll wait for the next stable build and see what's up.
Thanks for the hint with the [archive], I#ll try that on the weekend.
And even if some things do not work for me, I will keep this version installed, looks too good to go back...   ;D

Cheers, guys!

Firstly, HFS doesn't have a 406 error... Secondly, with build 125 you can just use the new 'Temporary Reset' to get the naked HFS you are after haha...

Also. I wouldn't recommend using HFS Live until Chrno releases the next build... there is a few bugs and the external servers can be a hassle at times. This is just my opinion though...

In the template, make a section [archive] and put %archive% where you want the contents of [archive] to go, this will obviously be a link for ?folder.tar?recursive, it will only show if you have 'Archiveable' selected for the folder.

im not talking about hiding folder, but hiding file extension "file.*". however, seems you solve ur thumbnail prob. for mp3, i just realize this. mms not working anymore for me. if im not mistaken, somebody post in this forum told that mms not supported anymore in wmp 11. i havent update to wmp11, now use 10. updated firefox to 2.0.0.6 but still use ie6. i think last month mp3stream still working but now not anymore. not only for this template, streaming code that i taken from terayon also fails. anyone know the reason why this fail?

about archive, you can put it as shortcut for easier. in the template code find this part
Code: [Select]
// Live Shortcuts - Part 2 (SHORTCUTS02)

// ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
new_shortcuts = 0; // the quantity of shortcuts you've made
// End of this customization
change 0 to 1

and this part
Code: [Select]
<!--  Add Shortcuts to Live Shortcuts - Part 2  (SHORTCUTS01)
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
1. Copy the following lines:
<a title="" href="target address (URL)" ><img alt="" src="http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n205/hfslive/img/tools/bookmark1.gif" class="menu_icon"/>
My Shortcut<br></a>

2. Paste them after the " - -> " symbol below.
3. Folow the instructions detailed in "Add Shortcuts" in the Live's Help document (Live Menu > Help) or Edit href and My Shortcut.
-->
change target address to "/~folder.tar?recursive", "my shortcut" to "download archive" to or wahtever.

if u noticed, it still use image from photobucket. u can change the source if u want to call it locally. just leave it if u dont mind.
the downside of using this way is if u dont set the folder to be archivable, the link is still present but ur visitor will directed to access denied page. u can merge this way and [archive] way as TSG told.

good luck!

Yes mms:// does not work anymore. The best way to stream .mp3 now is to use a flash player... we just need something for .mpg, .wmv, .wma now, that does not involve windows media player... has to be cross browser compatible....

if u need example of that mp3 i will post back

i feel sory for live2, i love its mp3 stream but what to do.. life must go on.. ;)

An example of that type of mp3 would be good.. lol

and yes i do find mp3's with really low frequency sound funny with my flash player... but who has mp3 in such low quality :P, bitrate doesn't matter.... but ye there might be 'drmed' songs that will not stream with flash... anyhoo going to set up a hfs for a friend, double router job with wireless connection... could be a long afternoon :P

Let me be the umpteenth person to commend you and all your hard work on this project.  OUTSTANDING job....WOW...just WOW

About the ONLY option I'd like to see added is the ability to host the HFS folder where ever you want. (the one you pick "global", "hungary" or "local server") My ISP gives me 15MB of storage, however, they don't even monitor the traffic so I could host the folder there.  I would love to host this folder there instead of on my local file server.  (Tried using SoKooLz server but after waiting for a song to stream for 5 minutes I gave up.)

no need for example anymore. i tested, no prob with mp3pro. as u said, low quality mp3 is the prob here. i have mp3 file with 56bit and 16000Hz play brokenly with flash. convert to 48bit 12kHz also failed, but 32 11025Hz plays ok. but the quality...:(

The Hz of the mp3 file needs to be devide-able by 11025. Meaning 11025, 22050, 33075, 44100 are having no problems at all.
Next, the song must have a constant bitrate. If you use a variable bitrate, it may sound funny in some or most flash players.

everything looks and behaves as it should.  They get the login screen, the box about picking a sever, it tells them to wait and then there's the homepage with about 7 folders on it.  But when they click on any folder there nothing happens.  It just refuses to navigate to those folders.  I see the yellow triangle in the lower left and the above error is what it tells me.

I don't know if this is relevant or not, but I have found an issue with HFS Live 2.  I have my site set up with access through both an SSL connection (https) and a non-SSL connection(http), both of which use the same address, but obviously different ports.  The problem I have found is that when I'm connected to the https connection, and then when you click on a folder, it uses the https connection, but if you click on a file, it uses the http connection.  Has anyone else notice this and know how to fix this?  If I use the default template, I don't have this problem.
