Beta / Re: version 2.4

sometimes you get files with long name and no dash/spaces, and it looks bad especially on mobile with little horizontal space, causing horizontal scrolling.
I want to add this css rule for final 2.4
.item-link { word-break: break-word; }

Please give me some feedback

it doesn't break.
It's there for additional security/control.
It's a "harder" limit, not what you want.
I understand it can be confusing, that's why i introduced a warning in the dialog. Take a second look at it.

You should remove the limit on connections and set a limit on "download" instead

ok, the problem has nothing to do with the size.
There's a bug with "empty" cookies.
Fixed in next release: 2.4rc2

thanks. I'm in Nepal right now, i'll be back sunday.
Anyway, i fear that i'll have to publish 2.4 as it is if we don't find a solution to this translation problem.
here attached the latest source changes.
i shall find the time to give a look at dj's stuff.

i thought i had replied on this, but apparently the "draft" was lost.

HFS 2.3 has a limit of 16KB for each request that is made.
I will increase to 128KB for HFS 2.4, next release.
I'll try to publish it soon, stay tuned, but probably next week.

I don't see a solution with 2.3, tho.

HFS ~ HTTP File Server / Re: Download rate limit 2 at a time
« on: February 11, 2019, 01:57:08 PM »
i don't understand your problem.
You should limit downloads, not connection, as connections are used also for browsing.
If you set the limit to 2, then it should not "crash" your hfs. What do you mean by crash?

I'm sorry I didn't answer before but I'm on a 3weeks travel. The problem may be with the size of the request. I'm not sure, as I'm not at the computer right now. It would be useful for you'd send me the full request privately to a@rejetto.com
Anyway I hope to come with further information soon, as I'm returning to the hotel.

i don't think the async is the problem: indeed the server has no way to distinguish it, it's totally a client matter.
The problem, getting a 405, is surely a cross-domain request.

Anyway, in your jsfiddle points to a php file, so i don't see how HFS can be involved.

the problem exists but i didn't find a solution.
The %s is not the problem: "total out" works for example. It must be something else. :-\
The problem is not even the changing, because "switch on" and "switch off" do the same, but work.
I'm sorry, but i'm quite lost.
I'm now leaving for a 3-weeks journey in India and Nepal. I can't say about my availability next days.

i tried with the "Switch ON" and it worked, so it's the exe.
try this http://www.rejetto.com/hfsfiles/hfs24rc1.exe

very strange.
HFS currently ignores the hostname, it makes no use of it (sadly), so i'd rather say that probably HFS is not the real cause of the problem.
i have no idea, but i would proceed with more tests.
You say that you see the connections established.
What is the "source" ip of the connection?
is the connection dropped?
Is any byte exchanged?
if anything is exchanged, what?
what if i telnet to it, instead of using a browser?
what if i connect from a different computer?
what from a different network?

it does the same to me. I don't know why it seems to ignore the fact that i've been converting many constants to "resourcestring".
I will investigate it.

apparently i had to use the "build", so it generated a .drc file, and then kdlscan worked correctly.
You'll find all new strings at the end.
Sorry for keeping you waiting.
