Title: irresponsive
Post by: sh2ka on February 01, 2010, 11:46:28 AM
HFS hangs it's main window and tray icon (with menu - all GUI) because of 100% CPU load when somebody downloads with speed > 2 MB/s. This is because data transmission goes in the main thread (GUI thread).
In this case I need wait before downloading will be finished to control HFS (for example, to decrease baundwidth).

i just tested latest beta version by making a very high speed download on my very slow computer (1.2GHz and 4200rpm hard disc)
without speed limits it was mostly unresponsive.
by putting a 10MB/s limit, i had slow but yet bearable user experience.

HFS is not multithreaded, and that's a bad fact.
