Ey rejetto I updated to build #173.. Now there's a new version. In the other thread you told me to post the error again with build #173 if I get it again. What should I do? Stick to #173 ou update to #174?

On httpEvent(6)
Access violation at address 00555690 in module 'hfs.exe'. Read of address 00000000

that appeared about 8minutes after downloading the new 174 build

Updated to this build and lost all my settings and placed me back in easy mode. I can't recall but I think I saved my settings in the registry.

just lost? no errors?

consider keeping a backup of your settings by saving them to file.

I have and will in the future.

Yeah, no errors, it opened as if it were default. I've got it mostly back to normal I think. Minus users and banned IPs.

fingerprints, didnt even know about it, and its enabled i guess by default, as i didnt enable it.

Just started HFS this morning and already i got the error message up, and i didnt select selftest. literally within 1min. same message as before
all i did was turn off fingerprints,
it seems it trying to selftest without me actually selecting that option

can rename be used to replace items?

e.g. rename "test.zip" to "../test.zip"?

Also, is there an option to set "no delete" or "Read only" to files and folders. So that i can't accidently press the delete button on my shared D:\ drive
Title: Re: Testing build #174

replace? i think it won't overwrite. you'll need to delete first.

what "delete button" are you talking of?

Ey rejetto the problems concerns this build. Updating to this build was the source of all my problems. I was getting errors each second. When a beta was not working, i would use the stable one. Same thing. Same errors. I mean when someone downloads from me, HFS freezes. I had to unistall all versions of HFS on my PC n reinstall them. Now I have only one version n its the #174 one. I hope it'll be ok. When getting the errors with the older builds(#165...etc), I just had to close the error n it was fine. Now when I get the errors with build #174, it crashes everything. When I got these errors, I happen to look at how many connections were there in HFS. Holy god!!!! I set max connections to 20 and max download from single ip to 2. The same ip was using all 20 connections. I removed the limit of max connections n guess what???? It increased to 310 n then HFS freezes. Think it has increased to a greater number. I think the bug is there. When someone uses download manager, it creates the problem. I'm not an expert but I guess so.

dito overhere : started at 171 then upper to the latest.  So I had to go back to #169.
Happened when I moved out - then put back - a whole HD directory [same external HD with HFS on] no matter real or virtual -
At #169 I can still move out & back in with no problem.

Yes, removed md5 files and now works with #174 - virtual /real out & back in.

Or is it not related to files?

rename is for files, yes. it is not related to the VFS.

{{set item | filename | [no log|hide|hide tree)] }}

ok

After I download the HFS build #174, then I run it after exit the HFS build #165. I dint encounter any problem at all. But me now very scared about the error that blackmetal mention earlier, seem like very serious. :-[ :-[ Until now i dint see any error appear. Anyway, anyone can teach me how to use the rename, add folder and delete file function? thank  :)

I forgot to say, set item and add folder, are macros meant to be used by template makers inside section [special:import]
Could you please TSG post the example code?

Hello everybody,

A little trouble appears on “one” login and pass,
Curiously one login and pass was locked and not working,
Every time you try to register, it show the ~log alert box and the login failed
I returned to 171 to check it on it, same result….
I write again the pass last number, open 174, close, return 171,return174….
And curiously now it works….
This trouble is only on “one” login when all other are working.
Strange ! I have been alerted by a user trying to log in vain who send me a mail.
I have not changed the pass and now all is OK-

We have gremlins hacking HFS ? Or a regedit cleaner*** result? Or a windows joke?
***All is saved in a.tpl  file.( +hfs.ini secured RaR copy) the login's are in.

This is the only trouble encountered on HFS 174, placed in “a clean empty folder” since v169…

A log out button should be cool to test all the pass without closing IE.
( it is not really needed, only useful for a fast live check )

I don't think i understand perfectly.... could you please tell me step by step how to reproduce from a clean/default HFS ?
Title: Re: Testing build #174
Post by: jerome on January 23, 2008, 11:41:30 AM
How to reproduce ?

I don't know how!!!
the login is magically repaired , and i even don't understand what happened in the box.
it was just to inform about the bug encountered on a Login pass. ( why this one and not others ? hard to resolve !)

Maybe a flash get torrent leech interaction, or a IE cache error .... i have not found the from where it come's.
Just a strange reaction.

I have also a technical question, how to make a "download complete folder content" function? folder + files
because "download all" take only HTML pages, and HFS data files.

thank you.
