Title: Access problems
Post by: Chris Harris on June 19, 2019, 10:46:43 AM
I have 2 HFS servers on my home network. One HFS server is on my main PC. and one is setup on a backup PC.

The HFS on the backup PC is accessible from any internal computer , phone or any other browser, internal or external (via suitable port forwarding).

The HFS server on my main PC is ONLY accessible from a browser on this PC. I cannot access the HFS server from any other browser within or outside my home network. I have the appropriate port forwarding in place). I have the option "accept connections on any address".

Is this a problem with my HFS setup or something I have done with my computer?

if it doesn't work even inside your local network, then it must be the windows (or other) firewall. Check that

I found the problem; it was the ports on the Windows Firewall.
But the real problem was when I upgraded to the latest beta. I had the beta saved as hfs24b6.exe. I executed the program . Everything was working but the firewall  was for the old version. It seems that I should have replaced the old version with the new one; not executed the new version elsewhere!

Thanks to everyone for their assistance.

Will there be any issues if the Windows firewall is disabled? Thanks!
