Could not find in documentation did not find a direct item in the forum.
What I would like to do is use HFS to serve a picture gallery as a link.  I/wife use JAlbum to "pre-create" the pages, including it's own index file.  I want to create a folder, "Pictures" where I can host the gallery directly from my machine.  Is this possible?  Pointing me in the right direction is appreciated.

Drag the folder with the gallery into HFS. Select it, right click into the context menu and select "Properties". A tabbed dialog will appear.

In the "File Masks" tab, set the "Default file mask" to index.htm or index.html or whatever the root document is for the picture album. Now when you browse to that folder in your browser, it should open like a regular web page.

nighted mixed some of version 2.2 and 2.3 :)

in version 2.2 there's no "properties".
you should right click > advanced > default file mask

while in 2.3 (beta) this step is not necessary, only dragging is.

Thank you, I just dragged the folder in.

If I change the "index" file to another name (not "index.html), do I still need to mask it?

yes.
the "mask" is a misleading name, it doesn't mask anything, it's just because it supports wildcards.
consider it as "default file".
