No love for 278?   ;D

Anyway thanks for the new parameters in {.add folder.} and {.set item.}.  Much appreicated!

Just a side comment: rather than using delete account I've been using {.set account|enabled=0.} that way it gives the illusion the account was deleted while keeping my record of it.   :)

Panda Antivirus Desktop because HFS build 279 identifies as a virus and deletes it?
My PC is part of a LAN with domain and Panda Antivirus is configured by the server.
How can I fix it?
thanks

report this "false positive" to panda's company.
it's their fault.

Well, Norton Security Suite detected and deleted hfs279.exe as well. Um, any others?

AVG also does but it gives you the option to ignore it.

Any competent Anti Virus made for Home use will find HFS as a threat because of the way it uses the network.

so ... i take it that any of us using Antivirus cannot update to 279? Norton will delete it "for me" once i download it.

This is what Norton says about this:

http://securityresponse.symantec.com/security_response/writeup.jsp?docid=2010-051308-1854-99&vid=4294919973&prod=scss

Before i can do anything it gets deleted.

For the saving of space hfs is compressed by with the program upx.exe, it is this last one whom antiviruses detect generally. You can uncompress it with a cmd line: upx -d hfs279.exe

You have to add a rule in norton, authorizing hfs.exe as being safe

Title: Re: Testing build #279 - bug
Post by: dhry on July 09, 2011, 05:16:42 PM
Running build 279, standard HTML template. HFS doesn't appear to handle directories or filenames containing accented characters properly. Examples of dir/filenames:

When displaying a directory or filename with this sort of accented character, the names are displayed right at the end of the listing, and have their accented chars converted to normal (ie Johannsson, Leao). Clicking on them generates a "Not found" error.

It works like a charm, I couldn't do without it! Now if you could only make it Unicode compatible so that my Chinese files show up... ;)

Thanks for this excellent piece of software.

the error is on their side, considering HFS a risk. You should report/complain about it.

it's ok to have a customized template, but it may have problems as any piece of manufacture, and it's beyond my control since it is not the default one.
What's the name of the template you are using? If you don't know, try posting a screenshot so we can see it.

1) when somebody enters to server, hfs shows paged list, how can i adjust no page by default? its very bad always press button 'no page' . entering subfolder its need press button 'no page' again again :'(

2) mark 1 folder, then press to get it archived, hfs tries to give me whole root  folder, where desired folder is

3) archieving folder named by russian not correct letters sometimes

4) archieving big folder (20-30 gb) hfs no reply,& fade away from tray, so need ctrl+alt+del (at least 5 comps with core i5)

the first question is actual, its very comfortable, just scroll up/down with mouse, maybe you will do so by default in the next one?

isp gives me dynamic ip, hfs assosiates it with dyndns, when i turn off my comp, assosiation still remains at dyndns.com, but that ip is given to another user, untill i turn on comp and hfs reassosiates new ip, everybody who wants visit my site (smth.dyndns.biz) will reach different routers ;D some of them admin- login pass are fitable, wonderful bug of dyndns.com ;D

so what about paged list?

@tudor81
1) right click on the root/home >> properties >> diff template >> put this text
[+special:strings]
option.paged=0

if you edit the template directly instead of using the diff template feature, you will not get any further update to the template

2) i just tried, and here it is working fine. Please double check.

3) is the problem only with archives? can you enter those folders and download files in them?

4) the size should not be a problem, but the number of files could. How many files?

4) the size should not be a problem, but the number of files could. How many files?
2) even a few files are marked to get archived, hfs always gives me whole their root folder with other files i didnt wanna load in it (over DMaster)

eg. folder contains 100 photos, i mark 10, press archive, downloaded folder contains all 100 photos ???

in the big folder (20-30gb,with many files & subfolders) i mark 2 folders, press archive, hfs trying archive root folder (20gb) that causes "no reply" needing abort process and restart server ;D i know that bug, but other people dont, they always fall my server down ;D

3) single file downloads fine, but downloaded folder sometimes renamed like "noname.rar" or strange chinese signs ??? (downloading over chrome or DM)

4) get archived big folder with many files, over LAN & using DM, hfs no reply, needs abort process (always, not sometimes)

2) yeah, reset template to default, all working fine ;D here is site http://svalka2.dyndns.biz/
3) ........
4) big foler 34gb, 40subfolders(50files in each), all my music. wanted download to another comp over LAN with DM, the problem "no reply" still remains, downloaded with torrent already, but hfs would be much better than torrent(creating torrfile, setup utorent.....etc takes long time) :P
i have many folders over 100gb, sometimes need to download whole huge folder to another comp, it takes 2-3 days over torrent or download master, but hfs "no reply" so we have to use utorrent :-\

2) you CAN customize your template without losing future template updates. You have to use "diff template" feature. Search for it.
4) what if you choose just one of those subfolders? does it work?

2) ok i understand thanks
4) if any folder i choose (no matter how many files in there) less than 10-13gb, all is fine ;D if bigger than 15gb, hfs doing nothing, i cant cancel or open it, i wait some time(maybe archiving very hard fo it ;D)10-30min, no action, then ctrl+alt+del, windows says hfs "no reply" helps abort process only

there is a problem, with big folders in fact, i notify that bug, would people able download huge folders over hfs? or we still haveto use torrents
i love hfs, but sometimes makes me crazy, its all my server is, dyndns, game server, 80port server,21 port etc, i let hfs manage my ports&ips&rtmp streams

i used to use programs by default settings,i dont have pacient to set each program some options or advanced settings,my windows & DM download files from other sourses utube etc no problem & *rar archives everywhere, only hfs gives problem like *tar or unreadable words, so i need go to winrar adjust it oohhhhh :-\ :-\ i use 10-20 comps everyday so i need adjust winrar & unicode on every of them :-\

you are right, there's a problem.
I spent the last 30 minutes understanding it.
Apparently Total Commander reads these files correctly, while winrar and 7zip don't.
I guess winrar and 7zip are more standard.
HFS is using ANSI to encode filenames, while Winrar and 7zip are using OEM.
I guess HFS will have to comply with them.
I put this in the to-do list.
There's nothing you can do for now, sorry.

it's a totally different archive format, like zip.
I used tar because it was easier for me to make.

95% users have winrar as archiver by default, they even dont know where filetype assosiation is set in it, they wanna see "little books.rar" (one blondie said me that ;D) they know - little books logo only, means the file is archived ;D
can u make hfs to archive folders *zip by default? zip is assosiated with any archiver by default, even windows can unpack zip itself

rar is quite popular, but it is probably more popular in russia since it's born there :)

zip is surely the most used format, and i would go for it, but it takes time and i'm not working on it right now.
to be honest, it's in the to-do list since very long time so don't hold your breath.

Hi all!! ;)

About the (piece of chit) WS.Reputation of Symantec, read the tab "removal".

If Norton Antivirus users could report at these idiots that HFS is healthy, it would be nice.

http://securityresponse.symantec.com/security_response/writeup.jsp?docid=2010-051308-1854-99&tabid=3

Then, perhaps you may be able to change your antivirus software in near future! ... Norton does not have a good reputation (SilentPliz.Reputation said that).  :D

yeah Norton is realy bad.
its very easy to bypass (with trojans , bots and stuff like that)

there is way better antivirusprograms , and that dont use so much cpu/ram.
