HFS ~ HTTP File Server / Great Idea! But...
« on: June 20, 2005, 06:42:43 AM »
Greets from Sweden...

I like your idea and if it is only using HTML with Java
or Javascript , why not ?! The only downside is that you
will have those who will react to using Java in a template (if used)...

HFS ~ HTTP File Server / Re: code p for hfs!!

I would like to ask can hfs support big 5 code :o
For further clarification: Big 5 Code. Big 5 is the character encoding standard
most commonly used for traditional Chinese characters. Countries such as
Taiwan, Hong Kong and Malaysia and of course China.

Hope this helps get an answer...

HFS ~ HTTP File Server / Missing "tab" in Easy Mode
« on: May 29, 2005, 07:19:39 AM »
Hello,

Just tried "Easy Mode" and found that when I go to "other ->Users"
There are only 2 tabs where there should be 3... If I click on one of
the other tabs, I can never get back to "Users" because that is that tab
that is missing...

Keep up the great work!

HFS ~ HTTP File Server / Download complete folders...

How i can download a complete folder (with subfolders an files) ?
Use GetRight...

Another way would be to create a "subfolder.zip" file which contains all files found in that subfolder.
When I add and delete files to the folder, I just refresh the .zip file. Works for me...

Yeah, it means more work but those who use my service don't need to get and use another program either... :)

HFS ~ HTTP File Server / FireFox dumb...
« on: January 03, 2005, 12:32:31 PM »
Hello,

Can anyone help me on this...

#1 I am having problems with FF when I open the Upload progress window. It keeps opening in a new window instead of a frame in the  current window/tab.

#2 Also, when uploading a file, if the file or files are small, I never get the message that the upload was successful. So, I cancel the upload and return to the folder only to find that the upload WAS successful; "the files ARE there". (Happy that it was successful .. Unhappy that is does not work the way that I expected it to. *(this happens both on the local machine (uploading from the computer to the folder) and between 2 machines located on the same network

These are probably 2 seperate problems... But it might be just that I do not know how to setup Firefox to respond correctly... In this case, like IE does in opening a frame in the current Window/(Tab) FF.
Secondly, give me the upload succesfull page and then return to the folder that the files where uploaded to.

THKS Dennis

HFS ~ HTTP File Server / IP Address?
« on: December 28, 2004, 05:39:31 PM »

Hi, that's me in the message before!
my HFS address now is: http://192.168.5.197/

Hello and greetings from Sweden,

If I am not mistaken, that IP address sequence 192.168.x.x is usaually
assigned to computers inside  a network (internal IP). You need to give
either the Either a domain name or an external IP address which would
point to the server or Router/firewall that assigned you that IP address.

ALSO, your server or router must know to point all calls made to the
domain name or external ip address should go to that specific internal ip
address. Else only those inside your network will be able to see your HFS
is running and use it.  Those outside wont be able to make contact with
you.

Just my 2bits.  Good Luck,
And Happy New Year
Dennis :)

HFS ~ HTTP File Server / Re: A suggestion for "adding folder" dialogue box

Hi rejetto,
...

If the wordings in "adding-folder" dialogue box are changed in the following ways, that might help clear up the confusion. (for people not good at reading English)

Instead of using "Yes" or "No", making it virtual or real may better prompt user to read ==HELP== more carefully. (pretty much like forcing them to read what the differences are)

I think this may help some people.

I am inclined to aggree with innison on this...  I had to explain this several
time to my collegues before they finally understood the dialogue box.

HTML & templates / HFS Black template Update?
« on: October 24, 2004, 02:33:03 PM »
Quote from: "Mr. Anon"
Of course!
You could also omit the credits if you want. Customize it to how you like it!
Great program and great forum...
I was wondering if it would be possible to update the BLACK template so that
it works with v.2beta3? "For those of us who are limited in our knowledge of
HTML coding."

Also you might give some hints in a "FAQ"on how to remove the "HITS" from
showing?

Thanks! Dennis :?

now my other half of the website dosnt show up .. 404 error the site is untuched unchanged what whent on ... www.downfallentertainment.2ya.com

please help ..

I am sorry, but I don't see anything in your HTML code that resembles
anything close to what should be used in a HFS Template...

However,  2 things can go wrong. The logo is refered to as "logo.jpg" but
on the server it might actually be "Logo.jpg" or "LOGO.JPG" which sees
each file as a different file... However, Windows see them as the same.
The other could be that  FP often places pictures in a Picture folder and
then the pictures location is not referenced. So, your picture doesnt show
up. :?
