HFS ~ HTTP File Server / Re: Thank you for enabling IPv6 support
« on: April 27, 2018, 08:02:15 AM »
As far I know, you will need to find a Dynamic DNS (DDNS) provider that allows to use your own domain. The best options are Dynu.com and Afraid.org (along with other services). There is also Duck DNS, but it doesn't support IPv6 addresses. Then, you need to configure HFS to use it. Keep in touch if you need more instructions.

HFS ~ HTTP File Server / Re: Slutions possibles avec BOx Fibre SFR

Hi! If you don't want to leave your Notebook/PC powered on all day (because power consumption), you can buy a "Mini PC", with an Intel Celeron J1900, like this; or a cheap Windows "Tablet PC", with an Intel Atom Z3735G, like this or this (if you choose another model or brand, just be sure it comes with Windows installed and not with Android).

The "Mini PC" has a better CPU, uses a normal SSD 2.5" Hard Disk (of 500GB or 1TB), but it comes without a display so you will need a monitor to configure it, and then you can control it through a VNC connection. It also comes with a LAN port (which is more convenient for you configuration).

If you choose a "Tablet PC", it's cheaper and it has very low power consumption. It's ready to use and the only drawback is that usually comes with only 32 GB of disk space (about 20 GB of free space, if you take in count the operating system). It also doesn't have a LAN port (so you will also need a WiFi router, in case you don't have one).

I hope you find this information useful... :)
Cheers,
Leo.-

Sorry for being a little off the forum (I'm barely having free time lately). About what you want, I think the most easy solution is to "clone" (copy and paste) the code of the "Select" or "Sort" buttons (from the Live 3 template), and add the buttons you want, copying only the functions found on the default template. I'm not good editing templates, so, it's not an easy task for me (it could take me a lot of time, which I currently don't have). May be you or someone else here could do this.

HFS ~ HTTP File Server / Re: I just lost my precious template
« on: March 08, 2018, 03:10:05 AM »
@Killy: I do understand you may be upset for your template loss, but please don't be too harsh with Rejetto. His is doing all the best to improve HFS and he is doing all this in his free time. I agree GitHub is better to contribute with code, but since this is an open source project, anyone could take the code and make a fork on GitHub (you are welcome to do that if you want). Don't take me wrong, you have given several good tips to enhance the program (and I guess Rejetto would give his opinion about this soon).

This gives me a few ideas for enhancements: when updating, if a hfs.tpl file is found along with the main executable (hfs.exe), then the program should rename that hfs.tpl to MyHfs.tpl, use that template and save that configuration in the settings. Another enhancement is that HFS should search for .tpl files (located along with the main executable) before creating a new hfs.tpl file (and if more than one .tpl file is found, open a dialog to select the template you want to choose). Another last enhancement should be adding numbered backups, like you have suggested.

Cheers,
Leo.-

Everything else / Re: No news is good news
« on: March 04, 2018, 02:56:55 AM »
Yes, that's right, no new is good news. :) I'm also still waiting for the next stable version (2.3l Build #300), but I always keep my eye here, visiting the forum for any news (even if don't have the time for post something, I try to read every new post). I hope Rejetto is doing well with the wild cold Europe is currently having. Cheers...

HFS ~ HTTP File Server / Re: Feature request: folder access by IP address
« on: December 12, 2017, 01:40:46 AM »
Hi rejetto, please check your Wiki, since it seems there is a problem with it because I can't login. It shows this error: "There seems to be a problem with your login session; this action has been cancelled as a precaution against session hijacking. Go back to the previous page, reload that page and then try again.". I've tried to login with another browser, but it shows the same error.

See the screenshot: https://i.imgur.com/erYmd81.png

Searching on Google, here, here and here you can find a possible solution (it seems you have to change $wgMainCacheType = CACHE_ACCEL; to $wgMainCacheType = CACHE_NONE; or changing it to $wgSessionCacheType = CACHE_DB; in the cache settings file, located in LocalSettings.php)

Cheers,
Leo.-

HFS ~ HTTP File Server / Re: Route HFS through VPN
« on: December 02, 2017, 11:57:57 AM »
bmartino1 is right, the VPN you should choose, needs to let you "open ports" on their service, something called "Port forwarding" (like you would need when you use eMule, torrent, or any other P2P protocol). You could find a comprehensive list here and here (you could also have a tutorial on how to build a private VPN here).

Please report back with the results of your experiments, to leave a future guide for the rest of the users (thanks!). Keep in touch if you need further help. :)

@retjeto
thank you for poping in, i thought the hfs version transaltion would incude this as a poteail fix to his 1st question.

i saw your post happy with leo and leo testing it.

Wonder if there is an update on that that might include that to hfs itself.
Rejetto would answer this better than me, but translating the HFS interface doesn't have anything to do with adding Unicode support to HFS. And about the WINE issue, I guess he would need to have a detailed debug log (that you may provide, if you have one). You can see how to produce a debug.txt, here: Check Wine for Errors. Hope this helps.

WHOAA!!! Finally!! I can't believe it! :D

IT WORKS!! It was worth the wait! I will make some more tests now, and give you a file translated to Spanish in the next few hours or tomorrow (and sorry I didn't check the emails yesterday).

Congrats! :)

-------
> EDIT: It will take me a few days to complete the spanish translation, but every seems to work correctly. If anyone wants to start translating to another language, be sure to use a text editor that supports UTF-8, and not ANSI like the Windows's default notepad. The best editor to get this done is Notepad++ (Choosing from the menu: Encoding > Encode in UTF-8, and from: Language > I > INI file), and then starting translating everything after the "=" symbol, taking care of not breaking anything. If anyone has another freeware utility to edit the file, feel free to leave the suggestion here. Thanks again Rejetto!, I'm very happy to see this added! :D I'm sure all the HFS comunity is also happy!

There should be some option to do that on your browser configuration. Read this help for further information (there you must choose the folder where you want to save the files (instead of using 'Always ask you where to save files').
