Programmers corner / Re: [Tutorial] How to compile the HFS's Source code
« on: December 02, 2018, 04:12:15 PM »

ok, i've found the sha1
Code: [Select]
    if name = 'sha1' then

it's not included in beta6, anyway

for my use I would just add aliases  ;D

I was based on these two macros, encodeuri and decodeuri,  which was in the sense of continuity
do not confuse the md5 and md5 file macros that have different uses

i see, but i don't like having just '64'  instead of 'base64', and the 'encodeuri' name was copied from javascript.

Now we have sorting, and much more translatable strings.

ok, i see.
I don't see a good reason to support IE6 and FF3.
I understand your suggestion to use jquery 1.4 is also in favor of IE6 and FF3.

i just tried the old default template with iron31, and these features work correctly:
- change comment
- rename
- archive of selection
- delete
- new folder

don't you remember if the problems were with the default template, or not?

Code: [Select]
  if fileExists('hfs.lng') then
    FreeLocalizer.AutoTranslate := True;
    FreeLocalizer.LanguageFile := 'hfs.lng';

this should be enough.
wait for beta6

i just had less time lately, but i'm not stopped ;)
thanks for your tests with jquery. If it's breaking other templates i will consider to just use old version, as i doubt it is worth having both versions.
Can you please tell me what old template and what feature it breaks?
I don't really understand why you mentioned mars and dj in your argument: mars was just guessing, but he was not right, and dj was suggesting to stop using jquery, any version.

hfs.lng: i'll have a look at it. I have to check the documentation of the translator to see how dynamic strings must be handled, i don't know yet.

Bug reports / Re: LARGE folders
« on: October 24, 2018, 05:10:11 PM »
i just made a test with my windows/system32 folder: 170 folders, 3040 files.
First load in 16 seconds. Second load in 10 seconds.
Then i enable system icons, reload 20 seconds, reload again 10 seconds.
This with an SSD.

welcome ferl, and sorry for the late reply.
Try to disable
Menu > virtual file system > use system icons

welcome Robert!
I never had the chance to make a test with a connection that fast.
I've reached 30mbps with my home connection, that was its limit, and 70mbps in a LAN.
HFS is not very fast any way. In the past I've spent only few days in optimizing its http engine.
The only idea coming to mind for your problem is: maybe it's high on CPU. HFS surely needs more CPU than other optimized softwares, and it will use only 1 core of the CPU, so you are capped by that. See if it tops one of the cores of the CUP.

that's bad, very bad.
do you have a "language" file ? are you using hfs translated someway?
