HFS ~ HTTP File Server / just a idea
« on: August 13, 2007, 06:01:51 AM »
let me try to explain what i thinked some days ago, i was using some card-printer, that has a bug, and from time to time i must execute some commands, but i dont need to bo there, or even logon remotly to make it, i create a batch that is executed from times to time

so i thinked this
hfs has a login system, right?
hfs allow upload for certain folders and for the right users(if configured to do it, of course) right?

so if in my vfs i put a upload folder, password protected
i upload a file with some commands on it like admin-cmd.bat
and at my hfs machine there is a app that is monitoring that particular folder, looking for a particular filename, in a timed check(at every minute, or every second...) defined by me(the user)
and the command file(the batch) is executed, and then after finished the execution, it will be deleted, and the app will keep the monitoring drill, until got another upload to execute again

would that be cool?
imagine
since we can upload templates
and we can upload ini files
we gain some new cool ways to interact with the hfs
imagine i upload a hfs.ini file with some "templatename.tpl" defined on it
i upload the second file the template, with the name as it is inside the hfs.ini
and then i upload a batch to call the ini, with the template info on it, and BUM i changed my template remotly....
got it?
there must be some other cool uses to it, but be aware, that if you use this app to monitore and look for a file called some-stupidname.bat and inside it there is a command to kill your pc, it is your fall
since you can protect the folder, with password
and only you will know the name of the file that the monitor is expecting

well
i will try to improve the app, but now i wanna know, if someone here like the idea, im using it, and i will improove it and his usage....

status = working
todo = many things... any suggestions?

F.A.Q.s / Run HFS as a Windows Service
« on: July 21, 2007, 04:38:01 PM »
Well, after many posts asking the same question... i sense that this topic could be put into a sticky. ;D

??? if you're looking for a way to make your HFS run at startup, but not as it usually does when the user logs in... you want your HFS to run even before you or anybody else logs into the computer, or even after a shutdown/reboot, you are in the right post.....  ;D

If you use the search button of this forum (http://www.rejetto.com/forum/index.php?action=search), you will find at least 3 pages with these words in their posts, here is a current list of threads on this topic:

and these files are mentioned in all of the posts...at least the files i got here... i have attached the sources of this application i made to create and manipulate the windows process that it creates for HFS... I have attached 2 versions of it, one that makes the service, and manipulate it only, and the other which keeps monitoring the service in the system tray of windows, i must explain that these tools are experimental, and all are virus free, they are one of the my very first programing things in C#, and i'm not updating it, as it works fine to me and others..... i have also got the any2service here, but i did not attach it, i can send it to someone that can host it somewhere for me..... the size is

Any2Service.zip - 2.188kb

i guess there is many other ways to do it... but from now on lets use this sticky post to discuss this topic.

it would solve one issue with many flash files and other things like rss feeds if we could get this
read and see if i am making myself understood....
sorry again my poor english

ledufe, thanks for that fantastic addon!
i did not make it, i just figure out how to use it with the hfs
also i got another cool test that may fit in your needs

I have one more question. Is there a way to make it to relay an internet radio stream? I mean this: I upload an .m3u file somewhere on the server and that .m3u is the one of the chosen radiostation. And is there a way to make it play?
it is not a m3u, but it is a cool combination of hfs+xml+flash
and now it plays not only mp3 or flv videos, but MP3/FLV/JPG/SWF/PNG/GIF
here the official website of the player
http://www.jeroenwijering.com/?item=Flash_Media_Player
and here is my test as much explayned as i can

first
i make it as this, on my root folder of my hfs i create a file called "filelist.tpl" and inside this file:
Code: [Select]
%files%

[files]
<playlist version="1" xmlns="http://xspf.org/ns/0/">
<trackList>
%list%
</trackList>
</playlist>

[file]
<track>
<title>%item-name%</title>
<creator>HttpFileServer %version%</creator>
<location>http://%host%%encoded-folder%%item-url%</location>
</track>

and again on the root folder of my hfs i put the file mediaplayer.swf

and also i inserted this code on the hfs template to call the swf and passing the argumment to load the playlist in xml
i putted it on the first section, but it could be inserted in a pop-up window to make it more attractive and minus invasive...

Code: [Select]
<embed src="/mediaplayer.swf" width="320" height="240" bgcolor="#FFFFFF"
type="application/x-shockwave-flash" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer"
flashvars="file=%encoded-folder%~files.lst.xml&showdigits=true&autostart=false" />

and the playlist that is loaded is a xml file that is auto generated by the hfs if the file list.tpl is as as the one above...

but i must say this is only one of the many ways to use the hfs and some flash player using the filelist.tpl
and this technic only will work for especific folder with that type of files, at least until the

but if there is another file type on the folder it hangs, but is a new way to get a media player without javascript...

the filelist.tpl would be like this, to only be applyed to the right kind of files:
Code: [Select]
%files%

[files]
<playlist version="1" xmlns="http://xspf.org/ns/0/">
<trackList>
%list%
</trackList>
</playlist>

[file.mp3]
<track>
<title>%item-name%</title>
<creator>HttpFileServer %version%</creator>
<location>http://%host%%encoded-folder%%item-url%</location>
</track>

[file.flv]
<track>
<title>%item-name%</title>
<creator>HttpFileServer %version%</creator>
<location>http://%host%%encoded-folder%%item-url%</location>
</track>

[file.jpg]
<track>
<title>%item-name%</title>
<creator>HttpFileServer %version%</creator>
<location>http://%host%%encoded-folder%%item-url%</location>
</track>

[file.swf]
<track>
<title>%item-name%</title>
<creator>HttpFileServer %version%</creator>
<location>http://%host%%encoded-folder%%item-url%</location>
</track>

[file.png]
<track>
<title>%item-name%</title>
<creator>HttpFileServer %version%</creator>
<location>http://%host%%encoded-folder%%item-url%</location>
</track>

[file.gif]
<track>
<title>%item-name%</title>
<creator>HttpFileServer %version%</creator>
<location>http://%host%%encoded-folder%%item-url%</location>
</track>

HTML & templates / Workonly on IE: Windows Live Messenger Protocol Handler
« on: December 15, 2006, 01:16:47 AM »
What is a Windows Live Messenger Protocol Handler?
What is a Protocol Handler.
Windows Live Messenger includes the ability to use protocol handler's that interact with the Windows Live Messenger Client. In the world of Internet Explorer and other browsers, it is the definition of a set of text followed by a colon which launches a defined program that takes in a parameter which is consumed by the called program.

The table below describes the available Protocol Handlers that interact with the Windows Live Messenger Client.

Command               Messenger Action                                                Example
"Add":                  Adds a contact to the buddy list.                      msnim:add?contact=nada@nowhere.com
"Chat":                 Start a conversation with a contact.                  msnim:chat?contact=nada@nowhere.com
"Voice":                Start a voice conversation with a contact.          msnim:voice?contact=nada@nowhere.com
“Video”                 Start a video conversation with a contact.         msnim:video?contact=nada@nowhere.com

Example:
The classic example of a protocol handler is the "mailto:" protocol handler.  This text when in a HTML page creates a link that when clicked launches the default mail client on the machine.  Any text after the protocol handler's colon is passed into the receiving mail client. For example, the following protocol handler starts up a mail client with a blank message to the user nada@nowhere.com:

     mailto:nada@nowhere.com

HTML & templates / maybe this javascript could be of some use
« on: December 05, 2006, 05:36:54 AM »
well i found some information about javascript acessing files on the server(A.K.A. external file), and guess what??? i found that is possible....

here is the code to use and change and test ....

i think that this may be of some use for those who wants a shoutbox, a guest book or even some news being displayed on the hfs.

tested and only works on the internet explorer, at least until somebody help me here...

or it may be useless to all, but for sure it will be useless when hfs support any server side code.... like asp, php, cfm, ruby, cgi....
hehhe

and about the code...

here i got 2 files
Read_External_File.html
news.txt

the content of the files is this

the html
Code: [Select]
<html>
  <head>
    <title>
ledufe- test of acessing a external-TXT file with javascript - Only On IE 5.5 or upper versions
    </title>
  </head>
<body>

<object id="ticker" classid="CLSID:333C7BC4-460F-11D0-BC04-0080C7055A83">
        <param name="DataURL" value="news.txt">
        <param name="UseHeader" value="TRUE">
        <param name="FieldDelim" value="#">
</object>

<script type="text/javascript">
function tdcticker(){
tickerSet.MoveNext();
if (tickerSet.EOF) //if end of data's file
tickerSet.MoveFirst()
setTimeout("tdcticker()",5000);
}
function init(){
tickerSet=ticker.recordset
tickerSet.moveFirst()
setTimeout("tdcticker()",5000)
}
</script>

<h3>HFS-News Ticker</h3>
<a href="" datasrc="#ticker" datafld="messageURL" target="_blank"
style="width:230px; border:1px solid black; background-color:#d0d0d0;padding:5px">
<span id="tickerDiv" datasrc="#ticker" datafld="message"></span>
</a>
<script type="text/javascript">
if (document.all)
ticker.ondatasetcomplete=init
</script>

</body>
</html>

and here the .txt file:

Code: [Select]
message#messageURL
HTTP File Server#http://www.rejetto.com/hfs/
HFS Wiki#http://www.rejetto.com/wiki/
LeDuFe HFS#http://ledufe.no-ip.info:2222
IE-Intercambio#http://www.ie-intercambio.com.br
IE-Ipanema HFS#http://ie-ipanema.no-ip.info:2222

it may be of some use...

and here the live preview http://ledufe.no-ip.info:2222/HFS-templates/ledufe/externalfile-shoutbox/Read_External_File.html , as i said before, only works on the internet explorer
but if somebody got any free time, try to use his code with the upload function, you may be surprised with the results... or expect some news here in this post, soon as i got some time again....
sorry for this people, but i am a kind of busy these days, the end of the year is making my company to work much more than in the other seasons.....

sorry about the url error... ::)
