HFS ~ HTTP File Server / Re: How can I increase download speed?
« on: February 27, 2023, 10:51:26 PM »
With the new locally usable Interface it is really awesome that I can add folders of the server computer on my local computer now.

But you know what would be even cooler now?
If I could also select a folder from my local computer and it would be then uploaded into the current folder!

HFS 3 works

https://abload.de/img/screenshot2023-02-272esdvn.png

Also a bless to see that I dont have to use buggy wine anymore and have a native linux version which hopefully doesnt switch the server off and says port isnt open after some days so that I have to restart the program.

HFS is not a focused on performance, but on easy of use.
I dont see exactly how one closes out the other? Cant we combine both?

I'm no expert, but I suspect you don't reach the full bandwidth you have with a single connection. Maybe speed-tests use multiple connections.
Single ftp download from same server is about 30 Mbyte/s with Total Commander.
HFS download is the said 8 mbyte/s even with a segmented download.
I can try HFS3 then

HFS ~ HTTP File Server / Re: How can I increase download speed?

I have the same problem. Downloadspeed is locked to 8 mbyte/s

And NO its not a speed limit of my server. It has a 1Gbit Connection (dedicated root server at www.hetzner.de
And outside of HFS it works just fine. So its definitely HFS being the issue

5
Have you checkmarked experimental highspeed handling in hfs 2.3?

6
I saw now, that I cant even upload a simple txt file lol.

HFS ~ HTTP File Server / how to avoid HFS blocks some filetypes at upload.
« on: December 24, 2010, 11:28:33 PM »
HFS blocks it, when I try to upload a hfs.exe to the server. Its avoiding by renaming it, but not a nice solution.

Now I tried to upload a torrent file. In earlier versions it worked always.

Now on 272 it is blocked too.

Not allowed it says.

Thats very annoying. How can I change that? In file filter in folder properties is no entry. So why HFS does that? Its really annoying, pls help me :(

o.O even if I change the extension it doesnt let me upload it :(

RAWR-Designs / Re: Player's fullscreen @ flash
« on: November 21, 2010, 02:58:54 PM »
Then I still have the OSD on bottom. So its not a real fullscreen.

I'd like to have it blank when I dont move mouse. Just like on youtube or the divx player does the job well too.

It should be as easy as this and not to kill the pause button by moving mouse to bottom.(who should know this without explanation or randomly seeing it.)

And real fullscreen means - no OSD which makes the screen smaller.

RAWR-Designs / Player's fullscreen @ flash
« on: November 19, 2010, 12:33:08 AM »
There should be a possibility to have a real fullscreen with no On screen Display.

And the most annoying is the damn BIG "pause" button in center of video.

Fullscreen should be blank and only get OSD, when I move the mouse.

Not exactly a very internet streaming friendly file:

File size: 916 MiB
Duration : 14mn 32s
Overall bit rate: 8,811 Kbps
With a 32 Mbit connection its perfect streaming friendly  :D ;D
We have all fast internet.

Or do you mean it is too huge for that flash player?

try using VLC as player

That I dont understand?

You mean when I install that player I should open the Direct Play URL with VLC? Or what do you mean?

I could live without a dynamic timeline. I just like to have this:

Quote
download a bit, then play as it downloads

And thats not for me with this file. With this file it waits until 100%.

RAWR-Designs / Player should play instantly
« on: August 06, 2010, 10:43:31 AM »
I have some MP4 video files on my root and as I wanted to test it, I noticed that the player has to have 100% of the file downloaded to be able to play the file.

That kills a little bit the sense of streaming :(

Can it not be like with youtube and other sites? So that the player does play directly and the video does download the rest while you watch the video?

But a register possibility would be a good addition to HFS
