download @ www.dovedove.it/hfs/hfs184.exe

what's new
+ new symbol %item-user% available in [progress-download-file] and [progress-upload-file] reporting the username used for the connection www.rejetto.com/forum/?topic=5789
* root diff template is always applied to special root pages like /~progress
* macros in diff templates inside the VFS are allowed again - a warning is issued if they contain macros
* {.replace.} and {.count substring.} will work with blanks
* filenames containing macro markers are allowed
- {.for.} and {.foreach.} were broken in build #180
- couldn't load some files with read only attribute
- sometimes it was reported "options saved" when they were not

1. The new build 184 didn´t work for me. I´ve only change the hfs.exe file and after the Selftest scans all ports it brings me an error and no connection over the i-net is possible.
I´ve download the new build again and now it works  ???

2. I start the programm as an service and i must answer the question in the popup-window that the file have active macros. Can you disable this question?

Works good externally for me on 184 from two differnet locations, neither of which were me.

i can put a command line option to skip the dialog.
it should be enough, since you should have control over the command line while configuring the service.

Please let us know the command line option you will use to skip the dialog mentioned above.

Are there any other command line options?  If so, what are they and what do they do?

it's all documented at www.rejetto.com/wiki/index.php/HFS:_Command_line_parameters

But i thought of a better idea: HFS will remember your trust for the loaded VFS, and you'll be asked only once. So no additional parameter is required.

I posted a comment about the macro warning in the wrong list by mistake.. next time I'll be sure to drink 5 gallons of coffee before posting.......  :o

this next comment is "build/update" related.. its across the board for all builds... your update process... should be separate from the hfs.exe process... I have noticed that it updates without suspending the current process.. and if you do it manually it kills the update in progress.... can you fix that?

it's really "A N N O Y I N G!" ;D

I have other programs that do the same thing... the update runs.. detects the current running process... shuts it down.. updates.. then reloads the process with the update.... it also does a check against the file version to make sure the update actually loads.

this would be much more efficient where the auto-update feature is involved... pretty much hassle free and minimum downtime for HFS... also maybe somethign that serves a warning to any logged in user? something like:

[the server is updating, please be patient...]

then to confirm to logged in user

[the update is complete, you may continue browsing...]

the way it works now is that it disables hfs without shutting it down.. then runs an additional copy ...... which isnt always the new version.... sometimes the command window gives a conflict error message for a memory address.

I figure this suggestion would help minimize the problem.

Update works here. First thing the batch does is 'HFS.exe -q'. That command shuts down HFS. After the update the HFS is restarted.

its always worked 50/50 with me and it never closes from the tray, it just switches off.

Update worked well everytime I updated, and is really fast.

Messages to users would be useless, as to see them they had to reload or request a new page.

If you would like a message to the users, you shoud disable automatic update. Then you can advice to your users 12 hours before update:

"Our server will be down this night from 23:00:00 to 23:00:03 ..." ;)
your computer has no brain - use your own !
